Things be happenin!

So, I will be rewriting the rules soon. I said I would but have yet to do it. Mostly too lazy and I really do not want to. But I need to as this will lead in to the second thing.

The second being there is a new section being added to the forum.

I love this place, and I love the community we have. So I need to say this.
The owners are adding a new section, Vendors. You can guess what that means.

I do not know all the fine details, but here is what we know. The vendors will have mod powers in their own section and not else where, they will have set vendor rules as well as our forum rules to follow. I have expressed that the vendors need to be active, either in their own section or, if they choose to, engage with the community.

I have also expressed, quite deeply, that the vendors need to be focused on what our forum is about, and that the community and information we have come first.

These changes will start happening in the next few weeks.

Post your thoughts and what not. I like keeping the community in the know.

So when does the Novritch section get here so everyone can hate on it. Jokes aside that sounds really cool.

The vendor section sounds pretty cool, especially if the vendors are active. I'm glad to hear the rules will be getting restructured, hopefully it will put an end to all the bickering and thread derailments...

Would be more interested to have manufacturers rather than vendors on the boards but oh well...

I just hope the community doesn't suffer from these changes and that the forum doesn't turn into an advertisement website for vendors

Considering the wide base of knowledge amassed by the members of this website, if the vendors sell something that perform worse, or equal for a higher price, than other products we will know. But if they sell great products, it would be nice instead of running over to five defferent sites for parts to browse them all here.

Having active vendors here on the forum sounds very useful!

Hello All,

This is something we hope to bring onto the site in the coming months. Vendors that would be added to the site would sell or produce items useful to community, so in this case gun related items or hunting goods.

We're working with the staff to ensure everything is done correctly.

Cheers,

Danniella

Hi Danniella,

whilst I appreciate the need (to you) to have this new section, "gun related" and "Hunting goods" will be of little use unless they actually have a relevance to us in the world of airsoft. Real steel shooting goods are literally useless in our world and hunting stuff is really just concealment products, bows/knives etc have no place for us. Admittedly there will be people on here that also use this but that is a dilution of what this forum is for.
please take this as the constructive criticism it is intended as.

thanks for clarifying this. I'll let Danniella know moving forward. What kind of vendors are you guys looking forward to?

Many of us are not familiar with the airsoft world, but from learning through you guys, we're willing to take in feedback and insight on what the site needs. would airsoft gear/armor/pellets be something that you'd be interested in? stuff similar to Paintball-ware?

Congratulations Lee, you have won my admiration, it is not often that companies like yours actually try to understand the situation in a community like this. Bravo, I can appreciate that!

The thing with this forum is that it is not just any forum, but a very specific forum dedicated to airsoft sniping and tech work on guns mostly. People will be interested in bb's (pellets), but not just any bb's, they need to be heavy and of high quality, otherwise they are of no use to airsoft sniping. Parts are also in pretty high demand, mostly spring bolt action parts (such as action army, PDI, those are popular brands). There may also be some interest in various gear but not as much as with the "casual" airsoft forums, so to speak. Airsoft guns are also welcome, but then the sniper rifle ones, there's not a lot of interest in automatic rifles here

Those are the main things people will be interested in. Especially aftermarket upgrade parts for bolt action guns

Thanks for the informative feedback! I'll pass this on to Danniella as well.

Manufacturers were mentioned above - the term 'vendor' that we use covers anyone that would be posting commercially on site. If a manufacturer is interested in that, they are also welcome to sign up. Just to clarify :)

Not too sure which vendors would be interesting to this community, as it is a very international community with people all over the world. Things will be different for American, European and Asian members. But as long as they carry some of the above mentioned products (especially aftermarket parts) they'll be likely to find success with this community
