What kind of car do you drive?

If this isn't allowed, I do apologize but it does say off topic so hopefully this qualifies.

I love cars, so I always like to hear about peoples car experiences and what they drive so I'm curious.

What do you drive/own right now?
What's your favorite car you've ever owned?
What's your next car purchase (if life treats you well)?

I drive a 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT.

More expensive to maintain than I expected from a Japanese car, but I love it so much. I'm not sure what my next car purchase can be, but I plan on getting into finance after I finish undergrad so hopefully something like a used B7 RS4, E39 M5, or 70s Stingray.

Sidenote: My SVD does not fit into my trunk I have to put it in my backseat (in the case of course) LOL

I drive a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT. Not one of the nice ones with an extended cab or anything. No A/C, no heat, no power windows, no power locks, no towing capacity due to some jerk motorcyclist trying to kill themselves on the back of my parked truck. Radio and speakers are about dead, and has 2 dash lights on that I have no clue how to diagnose whats wrong as the OBD port does not work. Oh, and its has over 200K in mileage.

Tis not a fun vehicle to drive or ride in...

My favorite car I have own, I think it was a 95, honda accord.

If I have to get a new vehicle, I am looking at a Subaru.

I drive a simple 1996 Toyota Camry. In New Zealand car devalue more than most other places.
I saw a statistic about a week ago that said that by the time a car in NZ has done 56,000km's, it would have lost about 54% of it's original price.
So I hate loosing money and so I wanted a reliable car that I will not lose money on.
I purchased it 5 years ago for only $2900.00. It has only cost me $300.00 a year on extra maintenance (not including normal wear and tear on tyres etc.). If I sold it now, I should still get about $2000.00 for it. So if I work it out, including depreciation and extra maintenance, but not including normal wear and tear, then my car has only cost me about $480.00 per year. Most cars are about $1500.00-$3000.00 a year (depending on the model and age).
Good old Toyota. :)

Careful: is your Datsun 520 one of the lowered more sporty looking ones? Or is it pretty standard outside.
C5 corvette was an alternative to the G35 but I decided I didn't want a 2 seater as my daily driver.

1tonne: do NZ people buy nicer cars like ferraris then? I imagine secondhand even with low mileage they'd be so cheap.

Wolf: What about the E30 M5?

I guess you mean either the E28 M5 or a engine swap in a E30 shell ..
Well I thought of that to be honest.. i thought of stuffing a S62B50 V8 from the E39 M5 in a E30 but I'm more a driver that goes on twisty roads.. And the heavy V8 ruins the balance of the E30 handling.

You're right I meant E28 M5. Sorry there's so many BMWs it's hard to keep them straight sometimes.

Most people just own standard every day cars. So Toyota, Ford, Mitsubishi etc.
You can get a petty good deal if you buy second hand.
I normally buy cars that are about 15 years old but in mint condition with low km's. That way I know I have a car that will last a very long time and not cost me much in maintenance and will not cost me much in depreciation. Then I can spend more money on important things like airsoft.

I think you might be confusing the 520 (truck) with the 510 (car), but my truck is relatively stock and largely in need of restoration. I'm just chipping away at its problems a little at a time.

I drive a Mazda 6. Favorite car I owned would be Lexus IS250. Shittiest one would be Peugeot 207 what a pos. The one that failed on me the fastest would be the 2004 VW Passat. Had a total engine failure on that one, cost more to rebuild than scrap it, went with the latter lol. Don't know yet what's next but definitely something that's a head turner.

I drive a 2000 Mercedes C230 Kompressor with less then 50,000 miles. The first owner was my grandmother so it is basically a brand new 2000 lol apparently this model is the "Honda civic" of Mercedes and should run 300K if I maintain it properly.

My first vehicle was a GMC Serria 2500, gosh I loved that truck.

Nah I'm thinking of your truck, stuff like this:

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...478846970e.jpg

I like Datsuns though. 240z and 510 are both so good looking.

If I move to the east coast for college, pending finances, I might try to pick up a beater truck/SUV for the winter. G35 isn't great in the snow and a set of snow tires/rims all around would run me like 2k anyways >.<
