TM MK23 SOCOM Fast Holster

Since there was no TM MK23 holster that fit my description, which is
- Able to holster and draw extremely fast for any situation.
- Easy to reholster even when not looking at the holster itself.
- Socom suppressor support
- Support default serpa platform such as blackhawk, safari

So I decide to build one from scratch, and now it is complete after 4 revision printed.
I have been using it for weekend game around 3 month (around 9 games) and I find no problem using it.

The product :

(3d model)

(fitted with blackhawk belt loop)

How It's work :
The holster work by double lock mechanism, one is on the release lever ( which will lock the trigger guard )
and another is on both inner side of the holster ( which lock the wide side of the mk23 lower frame )

(red spots showing the position of the lock)

To holster the gun, simple slide the gun in a little bit higher than lock lever, and slide it down like any serpa holster.
(See video of me holstering and reholstering mk23 below)

I'm not a cqc professional, and I do not play much in cqc indoor field, but as you can see, I could holster the gun very fast.
The holster is also very good in a stressful situation since you can just slide the gun in.
I had use fabric drop leg holster before and It's took me forever in stressful situation to reholster it.

My question is : Is there anyone interest in this holster ?
If there is I will upload it to shapeways or any other 3d print site for free and will list the parts necessary to assemble it.

Very cool! Can't see the video but I imagine it slides out from the front? Only problem I see with this design would be if your in the prone position... as snipers we are in the prone position more than say assault. Have you tried drawing the pistol from the prone position?
I've been using the Double Tap Design MK23 holster and it's been working great! Can draw from any position.

The holster is draw able from prone position since it perform like any other serpa holsters.

I've reedit the video permission. It should be working now.

You pull a gun UP from a Serpa, instead of forward as with this design. That was GetSome604's point, you cannot slide it out to the front when the ground is just there.

That being said, I think he's way overestimating the problem. Just twist your hips a little and done.

I think it's a really amazing design. Seriously, amazing job there, I think there's great market potential for it.

Personally I'm not a Mk23 user, but if you decide to offer it on shapeways, I'll definitely point some friends in that direction.

Thanks for fixing the video! Design looks like it functions freakin well! Have you tried any other pistols in it? Would love to get rid of the drop leg holster for CQB as it's annoying when running. And this looks like a great alternative. I think the hi capa users would love to see something like this hit the market as there no hi capa specific holsters that I know of.. good job bro!

Thank you for the comment. Unfortunately this kind of lock is impossible for hi-capa, since the upper frame and the lower frame size is the same.

Update :
I have tried upload the model in shapeways today, but the price is ridiculously expensive.

I print using Nylon (flexible plastic) in dmm.co.jp and it cost me 5700 yen (52 dollar) while shapeways.com cost me 73 dollars. Consider that the shipping cost from japan to europe or america is around 7 dollar, it is better for me to print here from japan and send by airmail.

Also, I forgot that I'm using my own handmade spring in this holster which is made from 0.6mm piano wire. All the more reason for printing it myself.

Anyway, I got caught up on a very busy schedule today and I'm not sure whether I have enough time for this. I will update later when I got more time or on weekends.

I have a Double Tap Designs holster which is very similar, but allows drawing from the side. It is also angle-adjustable and fits to belts or MOLLE.

https://www.socomtactical.net/dtd-mk...-holster-black

Yours is a more compact design, and does potentially have the advantage of being a little easier to holster blind due to the 'cheeks' the gun sits between, but the drawback of not being able to use easily whilst prone. I guess if it's on Shapeways and cheaper than the DTD it could be a viable option for many MK23 users.

I went with the non-standard mounting option, of using a G-code RTI hanger for Serpa holsters. https://www.tacticalholsters.com/pro...erpa-holsters/

Due to this I am unable to clean up the play in it as the screw that does this is too short. Nothing that cannot be fixed with some modification or just going and getting a longer screw.

Man, I wish I had neat tools like a mill or 3D printer. The custom equipment everyone pulls out makes me so envious. Were I to run a MK23, I'd buy this in a heartbeat. I've always wanted to run a side arm with attachments but I run into problems with fabric holsters. Hard holsters are an absolute no-go.

I also run a thigh rig for my side arm and I absolutely love the hard SERPA holsters. I own the real steel P226 and since I rarely open carry that, I use my SERPA in airsoft for the real steel equivalent. The P226 GBB isn't the best side arm, but I'd love to see an open holster like this.

Great job. I hope you see some profit out of it. If not, at least you have a wicked holster that does what you need it to.

Mine is also right-handed. Will be great once I get it all painted and shimmed.
