Modelwork m40a3

Hey guys,
Was planning on getting the modelwork m40a3 stock for my JG bar 10 after finishing off a few upgrades. I read a couple of threads about the stock not fitting 100% and whatnot, but didn't really find a solid answer on whether it will fit or will require extensive modification to fit. I just wanted to ask if anyone who has used this for a JG bar 10 could possibly give me some advice on what to expect if I were to purchase this stock. Thanks,
-Rosh

It seems to vary from one person to the next, but from what I've read and from my own experience with mine, the mag well will most likely need a little filing for exact fit. I probably put in a couple hours of work with sanding to fit, but now it's perfect and I have no issues with it. I sanded the mag well area, the mag release area and a little around the trigger and receiver. My VSR-X slips right in with no problems now. :-)

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! It doesn't sound too difficult. Hopefully I'll get more input from others before I make the final decision.

I hope this isn't necroposting, but I will give it a shot!
I bought the stock few weeks back for my JG Bar-10 and got it from mail today! (Hooray!)
Only stock parts from Bar-10 that I'm going to use are the outer barrel, upper receiver and the metal block that sits in front of the mag well and you usually attach the front stock screw.
And parts that really matters with the compatibility is the trigger assembly which is AirsoftPro 90 degree version.
The whole thing doesn't go 100% with the M40A3 stock. I managed to attach it only by two screws (front and middle) and the last one behind the trigger is impossible to attach. It is too short for that and the whole upper receiver end piece doesn't sit flush with the stock. It sticks out about 3mm above the stock. I think, I have to modify inside the stock so that the AirsoftPro trigger assembly goes deeper in to it.
There was another forum member that had the same problem with the upper receiver being too high but I don't remember did he fix it or not.
The Bar-10 upper works well only with two screws and if you ignore the cosmetic error behind the bolt, you are good to go.

I also had the same problem with the magazines as Shoushen, so you will need some sanding paper to fix that thing.
If you are going to use the trigger locking mechanism, you will need all the pieces of it from the Bar-10. The spring, those two locking parts and the upper plastic part that holds down the spring system so it doesn't blow up when used.

Edit: Biggest downside with the whole thing is the weight. My gun went from light weight hitter into a heavy weight series in a jiffy. With scope and bipod it now weights 4.8kg (about 10.5 lbs).

Thanks for the input, I really would prefer to not have to sand down the stock too much to make it usable and honestly the 3mm gap would bother me quite a bit after a while. I also didn't know the stock made that big of a difference! Thanks for replying I'll reconsider before getting the stock.
