The discussion for velocities over 550fps is indeed forbidden.
It's dangerous to shoot that hot! Have you seen what bbs can do to the human body?

I really don't find the need to go over 550fps, at the bbs go all over the place to anything over that!

In order not to be missunderstood I am only testing several springs an post my results for extra informations. Of course my intentions are not to have an airgun stronger than 550.

Kind regards

You shouldn't bother upgrading your spring until your internals can take it and you should get a decent hop chamber and barrel first, these will make a lot bigger difference

check the dates . this is 3 months old.

No first rule should always be learn your field craft and safety first. Nothing worse than a noob being let loose with a 500fps rifle or some guy just standing far back because he has an upgraded gun and no field craft.

Play at lower power's for a year or so and if you still feel the need upgrade and it will make you a 10x better player.

Ive been playing for over 12 years and the only guys I know that have any field craft and make decent snipers all used low powered rifles, myself included. And didnt just upgrade to 500fps because they could.

M190 vs. M170 Spring

In Russia it is allowed to have 650 FPS, if you respect two rules:
- dont shoot closer than 20 meters,
- dont shoot in automatic mode.
Yep, it rises the chances of trauma, but overall level of airsoft in Russia is more "advanced" and "tactical", than "run-and-fun" skirmishes in sites 300x300 m.
So we in Russia love some more "milsim reality", and dont afraid of traumas very much :) the matter is to choose your companions more precisely.

So, while this forum is an international scene, that would be useful to discuss questions "above 550" :)

Most sites here in denmark have a minimum engagement distance, depending on the output of the gun.

The idea is that the bb loses energy as it travels.
For example(Numbers are fictive as I can't find a good source.): If 4J(0.20@656fps) only delivers about 1J at 40m.

This can be perfectly safe, but it does requires, that people can tell if there are too close, and don't fire.

4J to the neck at 1m is dangers.

We don't let anyone under 16 play, and they need written permission until they are 18(law).
So we rely on peoples maturity, and the sites managers to enforce the rules.

Edit: And 9J at 1m will penetrate a smoked bacon 3-4cm deep, more then enough to do real damage to a human. ^^

I'm pretty certain this post died. The last post was months ago. We don't want to be bringing up a
DEAD THREAD
because it's against the rules.
