So whats your thoughts on this gun- http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=154_157&products_id=979
Looks pretty good,it is just that to buy a good amount of magazines will be a pain(because of the money). They are almost $40 a magazine and that is kinda alot to me but anyways what do you think of this gun?
It will need a good amount of upgrades to be a performer, but it can be a performer. If you're interested in one used, I have one that's in an AICS stock and has a G&G Heavy Barrel along with a custom hop-up nub, just PM me.
Ultimately, if you buy a KJW M700, you'll want an HPA rig, the G&G magazine parts, G&G striker spring, G&G bolt seal, new bucking, new barrel, and make a different style nub (the stock one has a pretty big design flaw). Other than that, just make a full length barrel spacer and fine tune the rifle and you're set.
The one thing that this rifle has that the Tanaka doesn't....... is the ability to take a VSR cut barrel. An upgrade that you have to pay for when you get the Tanaka.
If you are planning on upgrading the entire rifle anyway, then it is a good base to start with. Just know that you may run into a few different fitment issues with the Tanaka parts, and the KJW, so be prepared to do some tweaking to make parts fit.
GET AN HPA RIG!! I have a m700, i just don't use it too often because it doesn't have a hpa rig. The thing can shoot extremely far/hard. The consistancy without the hpa rig is just terrible. The first shot is always terrible and as you shoot they get better. I would definitely suggest the G&G rubber set, my rubber gasket that is on the bottom of the bolt ripped and the G&G one has lasted 10 times longer (I got the rifle about 3 years ago) and it has still not ripped. All in all it's a very good rifle, you just have to do alot of work to get it there.
I second what the other users wrote. I would go for an HPA rig. That is what I did with my Tanaka M40A1. From there or regardless of that, you should almost consider it mandatory to upgrade a lot of parts. The rifle has a lot of potential and it shoots hard enough to force you to replace parts sooner or later. This will need time and money but in my opinion the rifle can excel. Other platforms are easier on your wallet but they have smaller room for improvement. With Tanaka and KJW also.. you make a vow of dedication and ..rewarded sacrifice
-Tightbore barrel
-Good VSR bucking
-Creation or best gun metal hop up chamber(not the hop up, but the piece that the hop up sits in)
-Valve knocker spring
-HPA Rig using Palmer's low pressure regulator.
Here's mine (Yes, it is a KJW M700 in a modified Javelin M24 stock using Tanaka 29 round magazine):
It wasn't too hard, need some JB Weld and a dremel, and also read up on how to bed a rifle stock. I basically molded the stock to fit the receiver. The key is making sure you can remove the receiver from the mold.
