So mwrose777 wanted me to post the pics of his build after we finished getting it together today. I'll let him post the parts list for those that are interested (though obviously it's based on my one-piece receiver).

I couldn’t be more happier with it. I said I’d never go back to a VSR, until Masada had to go and create these awesome receivers!

Maple leaf stock, tan
Springer custom trigger
Maple lead crazy jet barrel, 370mm
Maple leaf wonder bucking
Maple leaf nub
Action army hop up chamber
Laylax bolt handle set
Maple leaf hop up chamber block
Action army twisted Cylinder set
Action army Barrel spacers
Lambda VSR-B spring
Wasp piston set

Love your build, I had a similar idea Sadly though I can no longer find a wasp piston. I was gonna pair the wasp with a Lambda Cylinder, that idea has gone out the window. I was thinking maybe the EDGI SAP piston kit but not sure if that would fit the Lambda Cylinder. I am looking into Maple leaf as a backup since all I can find is full Cylinder kits.
Once I get a good piston set I am pairing it with a Rapax HULK High Velocity Spring, I have the Springer 9.2 and AA hopup Chamber and a Crazy let barrel.

Well, now I feel obligated to post my VSR-U here too. Nice work Masada!

Edgi 370mm w/ modify X-range bucking
AA hopup chamber
SAP Piston
Laylax cyl and trigger
Trophy hunting rifle scope

It's a fun gun 🙂

2 questions! 1.) How are you liking the X Range bucking? Does it outperform ML? 2.) I see several kinds of VSR builds, many times followed by another letter (VSR-X, VSR-U). Could someone explain what all the different types are? Thanks

I’ll be posting the four I’m building once they get underway. All are going to be built with the same spec but I have a lot of parts to make to get them finished.

The stocks are going to be the Maple Leaf with two black, one green and one tan.

The AA chambers already arrived.

PDI HD Bore up cylinders are being ordered.

Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x50 scopes are being ordered.

Springer v9.2 S-Triggers have been ordered.

Pistons will be ~150g+ out of 303 stainless since all are joule creeping 0.69g builds.

Springs not yet determined.

Barrels will be 6.01 EdGi, but length has yet to be determined. I’ll be sacrificing a barrel to dial in optimal length and crown taper, then using a monolith core to both stabilize the inner barrel and provide controlled diffusion.

Hop chambers will be modified for brass flat nubs. I use them in my other 0.69g platforms and like how they perform with a proper r-hop.

The bolt handles will probably be unique for each, though I’m not sure yet what I’m going to do with them.

I'm really interested in how your builds end up performing. I've generally gone the route of off the shelf internals and have gotten good results so far, but I'm curious how much extra performance all your custom bits are getting. Hopefully it will be substantial.

It'll be a minute before I get to building mine. I have a number of projects I'm working on that are ahead of it. I did grab an EdGi 290mm 5.98ID ported steel barrel for it, with the intention of doing an internally """surpressed""" HPA build, but I might try to make my own HPA system. Something with a three way valve and a reservoir seems pretty simple.
The receivers already have the 1/4" hole necessary for the Wolverine kits so those should be a drop in fit if you were looking at going that route.

Defintion: one piece receiver is a part where the outer barrel (part that holds the inner barrel) and receiver (the part that holds the cylinder) are one piece, instead of two pieces that you screw into one another. A one piece receiver/outer barrel eliminates any play between the pieces, and ensures a perfectly straight system.

Vsr-X is made by a guy named Careful. Its an extremely expensive, steel one piece outer vsr with the rail pinned in place. It was designed to fix all of the flaws of the vsr system. Google VSR-X for examples.

Vsr-R is a VSR with a one piece receiver/inner barrel made by a guy named Reliku. Reliku only makes the receiver. In the VSR-X, Careful puts together the whole thing, including a special stainless r-hop edgi barrel.
Search RelikuAirsoft on instagram for examples.

Vsr-U is a VSR with a one piece receiver/inner barrel made by a guy named Masada. In this thread, everyone here made VSR's with Masadas receiver, making them VSR-U's. Its really just about the receiver/making of the receiver. These are the most recent one piece receivers to be made/released, and I must say, they are REALLY nice. See this thread for examples.

Regarding the X-Range, I have done minimal testing, but I can confirm it is well outperforming my old autobot, which I didn't think performed very well to begin with. With the teflon tape mod, I am getting absolute 100% perfect airseal. All that said, I haven't compared it to the Mr-hop buckings yet. Also, I had an edgi barrel custom cut to fit the x-range bucking, as it requires a barrel window even wider than the CJ barrels.

I built a CYMA CM701 HPA gun like what you mentioned.

I mainly built it because I was discouraged by the fact that a Bolt cost $500 so I simply just built myself one.
It took a QE[quick exhaust valve] inside of the cylinder and had a Clippard MJV03 valve connected with 4mm line.
The biggest problem with my gun was trigger placement so I ended up bullpupping the thing and putting the trigger valve in the front of the stock under the barrel.
All in all it was cool enough but it was so powerful that at 140 psi it would achieve 530 fps with a .2 bb and a 290mm barrel and like 700 at the same pressure with a .36 bb.
I ended up scrapping it because I did not know what I was doing when it came to barrels and buckings but I think I will be doing it again.
Comparing this to the electronic version of the Wolerine Bolt the QEV version had better power and possible better everything except for the ease of installation.

I don't have that kind of money, no how or tools.

Ya it's changed a decent amount since it was originally assembled as I've been ironing out other general VSR platform quirks.

I think the big changes to his have been:
-My arm/nub for AA chambers
-Maple leaf Autobot 60 degree bucking
-My custom piston (it's like a high end WASP)
-My custom self-adjusting cylinder head
-Also switched to a short inner barrel (200mm) plus integral suppression

Hmm custom piston like the wasp and sap, you got my attention. Are you maybe going to make and sell them? Just curious

I will just go with the edgi Sap, would anyone know if the Lambda Cylinder will fit it. I have to got what I can find in stock at the time I have the cash.
