Shot one once. Not sure about upgradeability but its not practical! A 1.3m and 6.1kg rifle isn't practical to my eyes in airsoft, as you don't get any advantage. You will end up paying as much for an upgraded vsr-10 than a stock cheytac.

I own the ares lsr-006, that's the tan m200 gen 2. It is a magnificent gun shoots straight and looks great. She is heavy, very heavy but that's the burden of having the sexiest gun. The gun will perform as good as any vsr since it is a vsr with a body kit. All internals are vsr compatible. The trigger I believe is proprietary. Mine is shooting 550 with a pdi 360spring cut to the proper fps strength. Let just say only the most stubborn of us can put up running with this thing day in day out, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Impractical, yes. I know someone who runs with one. I believe he has a 700mm barrel in it. Makes me chuckle all the time

there is a new version out now that's a springer at ehobby. Its about $400, but the only way I can see someone using it in a game is if they use it as H.V.T weapon and not a main rifle, cause its so damn big and heavy.

Having handled one and fired it, I would heavily recommend against it. The bolt pull is hilariously short(cylinder is incredibly small) which means very little compression, it's long, huge, bulky, and heavy. Not too sure on the comparability part of things either. (Keep in mind the model i'm talking about is the Beta Project M200, I can't speak for the Ares/socom gear/6mm pro shop/s&t) That being said though, if you want something the kids will drool over or if you want a nice desk/wall ornament, it would definitely do the job! Frankly, I think it would be pretty close to impossible to best the bar 10/ vsr for just simple comparability and practicality.
