Hi.
Do the ML Bucking, ML hop up arm and ML crazy jet inner barrel fit the A&K m24 with out modifications? If not what do I need to modify to make it fit?

not sure about the inner barrel. It was mentioned in an article to fit VSR inner barrel's you need to alter/remove 2 alignment nubs. They may be metal that you have to kind of shave down inside the hop-up chamber. I just got a PDI tight bore made specifically for this rifle - I installed today w/ a new bucking from Action Army and I now have a pretty good air seal. Your ML bucking won't work on the stock barrel as it has a window (so does the PDI) so if you want that to work you'd have to get ride of the bridge on the inner barrel.

Also forgot to mention - the pdi inner barrel is from xfire I've seen mentioned here a bunch - including the day I ordered it, it took 3 days to arrive at my home from Japan! That's impressive, and the W-hold hop up bucking arrived in a set of 3 even though I only ordered 1!

It wont accep aa vsr chamber but stock chamber accepts vsr buckings , barrels and hop up arm. To get it to shoot far and good I'd suggest to get stronger spring, precise inner barrel (maple leaf crazy jet or action army) , maple leaf autobot bucking, maple leaf cnc concave hop up arm and make tdc mod for your chamber and make some barrel spacers out of electrical tape. This upgrades will be just prefect for your budget ;)
I will be building a rifle based on this. I am compiling my parts list now. I have seen other comments about using the 430mm inner to get a good cylinder/barrel ratio. Does any modification need to be done to the outer barrel since the inner will be almost 100mm shorter than the factory inner?

I think you can actually turn down a AA chamber to fit this rifle remember seeing someone do it. You'd need access to a lathe though.

I have seen somebody put a barrel spacer in the end of the inner barrel on the muzzle end, which fit very snugly thus creating an empty, isolated front part of the outer barrel. After that, you can buy blackish/greyish foam that was used in BANANA (such as Mk23's BANANA) which has a hole in the middle so the bb could pass through and add this foam to the isolated end of the muzzle. In this case, if you change to e.g. ML CJ 430mm inner barrel you could create a 510-430=80mm of BANANA INSIDE the outer barrel which could reduce the muzzle noise. Pretty nice idea I would say.

I forgot where i got the reference, but you get the point. Kudos to it's original creator .

I have to say, as an owner of the akm24, I like it, the internals are all metal 90degree trigger etc. but based on video's I've seen and anecdotal evidence - I'm not crazy about the lack of accuracy. I put in a new inner-barrel (tightbore) did a general cleaning, replaced the hop up rubber w/ a pdi one. I'm getting a stronger spring (which won't help accuracy) and the only thing left is my piston head which I plan on replacing hopefully with one that is a bit fatter to create a better air seal (ported). That is the weakest thing about the gun is the lack of air seal w/ the stock rubber/piston head .So pending the new piston head, I just don't think this gun is very accurate (still fun) or maybe no airsoft sniper can be as accurate as I imagined?

Hi all first post,
I have this rifle and love it, get very good range and it is accurate. This is what i have done to the rifle. Maple leaf arm (needs the top filing down to fit the
hop up chamber so when in the outer barrel little hop is applied). Maple leaf decepticon bucking with ring 60 degree. Get really good air seal. TDC mod. I polished the inner barrel with T cut until it shines like a mirror. Barrel spacers made from electrical tape. Everything else is original. Shoots 480 fps on .2s
I used it last week on .36s with very good results. Range 230ft to 280ft and accurate.
I have also done my own left hand conversion but thats another story.

So no need to change inner barrel just polish it.

Iím surprised no one has recommended the tried and true vsr 10 yet. TONS of aftermarket support and you can pick up a clone for $100. Any reason why no one has compared these 2 yet?

I can answer you that, op wanted similar thing as ssg24 and this a&k s24 (m24) with fluted outer barrel fits the bill. Vsr was recommended million times, so why not something different? Also a&k s24 comes with steel seat 90 degree trigger, aluminum piston and spring guide , brass cyilinder head and steel cylinder, also vsr style chamber, barrel and bucking all for 109 euro, it's hard to beat at that price point. For starter I would maybe change spring, I'd put maple leaf cj barrel, autobot bucking and maple leaf hop up arm, do tdc mod and voila, for sub 170 euro you have upgraded sniper rife ready for field use, minus scope and extra mags

Thatís honestly a great idea. By vsr style, do you mean that they are a direct fit with no modifications? If thatís the case then I kind of regret buying my bar 10. Why arenít more people using this platform?

Mostly availability. It's not so easy to get in the US, so it doesn't have the reputation it deserves. In some countries like Spain it's probably the most popular sniper platform
