SSG24 Vs. SRS

I am semi new to airsoft (around 2 years playing) and I've been looking at either buying the SSG24 or the Silverback SRS. I am having trouble deciding which is better and am looking for advice on which one to go for.

SSG24
Pros:
It can shoot pretty far and is accurate out of the box.
It is sturdy.
There are walk-throughs on how to work on the gun.
The Hop-up is easy to adjust.
Requires no Tech work

Cons:
From what i heard can be out ranged by some upgraded VSR's
There doesn't seem to be many upgrades for the gun.

Silverback SRS:
Pros:
Bullpup
It shoots pretty well out of the box.
There are upgrades for them.
The looks.

Cons:
It doesn't seem to shoot as far as the SSG pre-upgrades
The hop up can be a pain to work with.
You have to buy a kit to get a normal bolt pull.

Those are what i came up with i could be wrong and if i am feel free to correct me. Also any advice is appreciated.

I can't speak for the SRS at all, but we know (someone else could probably give the details, I can't) what's inside an SSG- it's just another clone platform, but with upgrades pre-applied.

I'm not very familiar with the SRS, but if it's another VSR platform internally, then I'd strongly suggest just picking whichever one you think looks cooler / has a more preferential body (do you hate bullpups? Don't get the SRS)- and keep in mind that with an SSG, you basically picked a VSR and paid someone to upgrade it, whatever that means to you (I'd hate it; I like upgrading, and it saves money).

I own two vsrís and one srs (plus some aegs) I have to ask.
Why donít you buy a vsr? I still prefer my vsr over all my rifles.

I want to say the srs is not some magic laser gun, it barrel shot 200ft and couldnít lift anything heavier than a .30

On all the gen 2 srs they come with pull bolts so no kit.
The hop up is a bit of a pain, but it took me about 15 minutes to get used to it, after that itís easy. You could always buy the fast hop up tho.
If you get the srs buy a new spring first, terlon tape mod and dail your hop up. Youíd be surprised how much range you will get from a new spring and .40+

Itís just a pre-upgraded modify mod24... not vsr compatible

I own srs and I have try ssg24. Srs can outperform ssg24 out of the box. You don't need any upgrade parts for srs to perform like ssg24, just get new spring and add weight to piston to get better joule creep. Also you need to teflontspe hop rubber for 100% airseal. I use 0.45 and its not a problem to overhop it if I want, so hop up chsmber is good. It fly straight to 90-100m.
Cons of srs is you need to get used to bullpup design for bolt pull. Materials usef for srs is much better thsn ssg24, and ssg24 is best "normal" rifle out of the box.

I would get the SSG. The I tried the SRS and although it looks cool, the mag is ridiculously heavy and big. It is nearly impossible to change with one hand. Also, it is that big that it will limit the amount of mag you can carry.
The bolt pull on the SRS seemed a little short too but you would easily get used to it. They could have placed the bolt hand a little further forward to make for a more comfortable feel.

Lol and you think after changing the spring , adding weight to piston and teflon taping the rubber its still out of the box? I wonder why have they put an m120 spring in it rather than m170? It cant stand that high powered spring for long. Ssg24 is way better out of the box than an SRS

They put in weaker spring because by law they are not allowed to have anything in China over 1.6 joules (Or something like this. I can't remember exactly). Even if a Chinese manufacturer was to make really high spec rifle, they still can't put in a big spring. So really, Novritsch has a market that is all to himself. No Chinese manufacturer can match him.

Can it handle a m170 spring without upgrades? Like is it pre-upgraded like novritsch ssg24?

Well a fully upgraded vsr, srs or a stock ssg24 will shoot the same in terms of range if the velocity with heavy bbs is same and the hop up can lift the heavy bbs. Are the sears on the srs steel? What material is the piston made out of? Spring guide? Is the cylinder and the cylinder head steel? Of course if i put an m170 to my gun it will shoot 110 metres effectively since the joule creep with long cylinder and well matched cylinder-barrel ratio. And you could just swap a m170 into a stock bar-10 but wouldn't last that long. I doubt its the same with srs

Thanks for the info guys. I also already own a Bar-10 it is all stock right now and i wonder if it will be better to just upgrade that. I hear mixed opinions when it comes to upgraded vsr-10 models being better than the ssg-24. To make it shoot better than that would it end up costing more than to just buy the ssg?

If you want to upgrade the vsr instead of buying a rifle.
I would Start off with crazy jet barrel, maple leaf bucking and maple leaf hop up arm. If you have he money get the action army chamber and maple leaf omega nub instead.
Then Get a jj 90 degree trigger, whatever 90 piston you want, and whatever spring you want (I’d get a Laylax spring). Maybe a Teflon cylinder if you want it.

Spring change to srs is max 10 seconds, ssg comes also with extra spring if you order, just you need 15min to change it. I didn't have to add weight, it was my choise. Srs can handle m170 with no problem att all, btw its silverback srs m170 spring, factory one. Srs sear is carbon steel, high quality.
Look to ssg groups on the facebook, there are many problems with ssg curving right, magazine problems... it's not good as many stated. But if you give 700€ for it it will be stupid to addmit all these flaws. I have vsr10, cost 400€ rifle and upgrades, and shoot the same distance and accuracy like ssg. Ssg is good marketing and that's it. Guys who did't try srs can say that ssg is better out of the box.
Srs have upgrade parts if you want even better, ssg has not. I rest my case.

Oh, i didn't know that can it handle an m170, but if it has steel carbon sears, no problem. And the 20" model is just 350$, so not big money.

I own both the SRS and the SSG.

Out of the box the box the SSG is the better performer no doubt.
My SRS needed some work with the hopup and barrel to make it shoot as good as the SSG.

The reason why I stick to my SRS currently is because fields are flooded with SSG24s.

An SRS is a nice unique change with it's bullpup system.
