Bucking keeps shredding/tearing

Hey all,

Recently finished my R hop install with with the AA chamber, modify flat nub, and nineball bucking, however the bucking keeps getting shredded by the nozzle of my cylinder head. This happened to my previous nineball bucking as well which lead to it ripping in half when I was flat hopping it. Any explanations on why this keeps happening? I am in the process of buying a firefly hard bucking and another nineball bucking but am afraid it will rip again. Any input helps! Thanks,

-Rosh

Try swapping nozzle for a better one without sharp edges, or file/sand if you can

Yeah I'd have to imagine the nozzle is the problem. I've heard these kinds of horror stories along with talk of bucking wear based on how tight the nozzle fit is, but my nozzle seems to impart no real wear on the bucking- and I can't imagine it's capable of doing much even over a long time given how smooth it is (Wolverine Bolt, presumably irrelevant to you...haha).

Its likely the nozzle. Polish it to a mirror shine and round the front of the nozzle opening some. Basically dull any area that could be sharp.

Alright, I'll give that a try. Thanks for the response guys! Was just hoping that laylax nozzles wouldn't be a problem but I guess every nozzle can have issues.

Upon further inspection, I found that one of the BB stoppers inside my AA chamber is completely destroyed, and there are metal shavings inside the chamber. What could be causing this?

Whoa, that is unexpected.
Hard to say exactly what happened, but If I was trying to achieve that, I'd probably screw in the BB stoppers all the way down as tight as possible, make sure the gun isn't loaded, cock it, then slam the bolt forward as hard as possible, lol.
So I suppose next time make sure the stoppers are only screwed down as tight as they need to be (I keep mine as loose as possible without the caps just falling off) and don't be too violent?
Odd though, I've never heard of that happening.

The AA bb retainers are sacrificial and need to be replaced from time to time.

As for the metal shavings, they are either from your nozzle scraping the entrance to the chamber or from the inside of the cylinder.

How would I go about aligning the cylinder to prevent this from happening again?
