The SRS can be tuned to have pretty much the same performance, but it will cost much more than a vsr build. It will also take more effort to get that performance and can be a bit ergonomically odd to get used to. Pick your poison.

I tried one and hated it. The mag is too big and heavy and the mag can't be changed with one hand unless you are the BFG. If you have small hands, you will need to put the rifle on the ground to change the mags. Also, the mags are so big and heavy that you would only want to carry one spare at the most.
It's cool looking but not very well thought through and if another manufacturer was to make something similar that was a lot lighter with smaller high capacity mags, then they may be onto a winner. Though some people like looks more over function. Each to their own.

The SRS 2018 looks like a pretty much done deal. I would take that over a VSR these days. Worst case it'll need new barrel/hopup parts at most. I would readily advice someone to pick that and use it as-is out of box instead of upgrading.

I would drop 500gbp in a heartbeat for a rifle as good as the SRS is now. It's not just the internals; the body construction of the SRS is way better.

Body construction is better (overkill for airsoft) but have you used one? The mag change is ridiculous.

Srs is way to superrior to any vsr. Have try that to many games. It's heavy but not that much. 3.5kg with optics. I have both and only better thing with vsr is less weight.

How do people find the mag changes? Also those that own them, what do they think of the size and weight of the mags?

Mags are easy to change with one hand if you put magpulls on it, but they are much bigger than vsr's so you need more space for it in pouch. Srs has much more cylinder volume than vsr so it's no oroblem to use any bb weight. I have 509mm barrel and rifle lenght is 78cm.Ergonomics is something to use to it after some while. Trigger, cylinder and piston is no need to upgrade if you don't want. Spring change is realy realy easy. It's very compact and easy to manouver on a field. The build is supreme to any other rifle on a market now. Ssg24 looks like a toy compared to srs, in performance and in build quality. That's just my oppinion.
New srs 2018 model have cup design piston, and with fast hop and new silverback buckings it's easy to get 100m with 3.3J setup. Even with 2.5J people get 90m effective range.
Silverback made new upgrade piston with weight adjustment and soon it will bring new cup seal with airbrake. I use wasp piston to get complete silence while shooting. From 20m you don't hear it.
One year ago it was different story, but now srs is a gamechanger on a field.
This looks liie paid addvertisement hahaha but it's not. Many srs owners can confirm what I say.

I have on a srs I tried it with a m170, fast hop, .48s, flat hop bucking,300mm pdi barrel, rhop, Fow (h nub) nub, (I also tried a flat nub and it was shooting the same) I maybe shot 250ft with a bit of overhop. When I switched to .40s it reached a bit rather around 275ft. I definitely wouldn’t call it easy to reach 100m or 90m.
I love my srs but getting it to shoot straight and true was a pain. I will say that it was very quiet stock and even quieter with a 220mm banana.
Also the mag change and racking the bolt was a pain to me, I’m a rather smallguy 6ft 145lbs.
I like my vsr more than my srs. Maybe that’ll change once I through in a sdik, maple leaf super and crazy jet.

So your VSR is completely stock?

In all seriousness, they can both perform about the same but in the end the vsr wins out because there are much more parts available for it. In addition to better possible performance, the vsr is also lighter and possibly cheaper.

No, my vsr is fully upgraded gspec. There is many spare parts for srs a1 but actually you don't need any of that bcs stock part is already very good quality.
Same like all sniper rifles, it need some attention at the start. I already said it's heavyer than vsr, but not everybody see it to be concerned about.
Vsr have many variables that can affect accuracy. If I compare your vsr-R than it's not normal vsr, but custumable version, and in that way it comes out to be more expencive that srs, and srs already have what someone will get with vsr-r.
Good vsr and 3.3J can go 100m same like srs. But compared to srs, vsr need many working hours to get there.
Stock srs chamber is piece of the art but is hard to get it straight if you don't know how. Fast chamber is compromise to have fast adjustment in a field and has it's own flaws that need to be solved before use.
If I have to choose, vsr-R or srs, I would go vsr-R. But if I have to choose normal full upgrade vsr or srs, I would always go for srs.
