Slit mound buckings like the PDI W-hold need the standard ďbarĒ style nub that comes with the AA chamber. The concave ML nub will basically push the mound together and keep it from working properly. The bar nub will separate the slit in the mound and will give you more lift and better performance.

Hi Joe, just as a comparison...this is an EBR on semi auto firing 20 shots, same distance. .3g BBís and this thing chronos at 405 FPS on a .2. Please donít think Iím knocking your gun, this is simply to illustrate how dialled in you can get.. :) Iím shooting from a standing rest so any deviation is all me...not the rifle.

*disclaimer* donít expect results like Zeroís unless your willing to put hours upon hours upon hours into accurizing your system & building a custom hop. Iím not saying it canít be done, itís just that Zero is probably the best tech here on ASF.

Start with switching to the bar style nub, and if your not happy, look into other drop in solution like Maple Leaf buckings. If you still want more performance, research R-hops.

Also I dident see am barrel spacers on your list, make sure to install 3 of them. I just use masking tape for mine

Thanks for the kudos, bmr3, but I'd hardly say the best...just maybe most obsessive and perhaps a little more outside the box than most when it comes to flight dynamics. I suck at DSG builds, optical triggers, I hate lipos...we all have our thing, y'know? I also hate paperwork. The diligence of guys like Magic Marker and 1 tonne blow me away with their charts and reports. hee hee! But then, I probably have a bigger stereo and better playlist when I'm building a rifle.

My thing is not stopping until all 20 shots go through the same hole. The airsoft equivalent of putting your arrow right down the shaft of the previous arrow. Yeah, Robin Hood! Who doesn't like Robin Hood? hahaha. I suck at archery comparatively, but one day my kid and I were at the bow range dialling in the compounds and some dude with some monster moose hunting kit did just that at 30 yards. When he's not splitting his arrow (expensive habit by the way), you can hear the shafts knock together in the bullseye. How frikken scary is that?

Anyhew, I digress...yes, barrel spacers!! Absolutely and no question one of the best rifle mods there is for a bolt gun!!! Great idea!! The steadier you can make that inner barrel the more solid your shot will be. I made my spacers out of hockey pucks. Hard rubber, easy to shape and cut, impervious to temperature and vibration...should last about 5000 years. hehehehe.

Oh, and about r hopping. That's a dark rabbit hole. hahahahaha.... effective? Absolutely and no question about it. The EBR is r hopped. Sorta. Variation on the r hop, actually. But quite effective. The hop unit in my L96 also allows for lateral as well as vertical adjusment. Keeps it right down the middle so to speak. But, definitely not practical or cost effective to tune and build.

But hey, anything we can help you with, let us know...sometimes just bashing around a few brain pans is enough to get a good idea going. That's why I love this place!

You should definitely be expecting a better grouping than that from 40ft. bmr3 is right that you should use an R-Hop or Maple Leaf. As you already have the nub you just need the bucking. I would personally go for an autoboot and no softer than a 60 degree. If you are still having troubles with inconsistent shots, try a panertha of skee nub. These have a bigger contact area than the Maple Leaf and is definitely better.

Yeah I'm too scientific to let myself speak confidently here without utmost certainty...however to put it bluntly: I'm like 99% sure my Tanaka is shooting far more accurate than that at my MED of 100 ft- and while I'll reiterate what bmr3 said about not expecting results equivalent to those who are absolutely obsessed with the concept of accuracy, I am confident there is considerable room for improvement there.

One thing that is often overlooked that everyone should be able to address with any number of mods is the overall rigidity from inner barrel to scope. You can have the most accurate source-to-muzzle assembly on the planet, but it won't mean anything if there is ANY play between your scope, and where the BB leaves your rifle. Some common problem areas to consider:
- Your scope is probably locked down properly to your rings/rail/receiver, but is your receiver completely locked to your outer barrel?
- Does your inner barrel fit the outer barrel tightly at the muzzle? (spacers override this)
- Is your hop up chamber locked down tightly to your inner barrel?
Common tools to resolve these kinds of problems: teflon tape, electrical tape, loctite
Also +1 to Skeee nubs - Panthera seems about the same - I doubt there's anything that works better on the market.

But hey! Actually I could give you a run for your money when it comes to playlists! ;P

See? This is what I like about the communal group here. I forgot about the scope thingy only because it's second nature to me. So, along comes my buddy Mr. Marker with his exceptional obsessive detail and nails another point none of us hit yet. Awesome!

We'll just drop the whole topic of playlists right here. Rifles are absolute, music is subjective...stay out of the grey areas, it's how you stay married for decades. bawwwhaahaaa

Oh absolutely- it doesn't matter what you say, IIII know that MY playlists are better ;P

Actually another thing I left out and others probably did on purpose as well is ammunition. Longbow .4g BBs seem to have a good reputation, however I haven't gotten to analyze or use them, so *shrug*
In general, I'd point to the following as a solid reference for good BBs:

But to be on topic, ML autobot 60 or 70 and barrel spacers!
