Ares based project

Evening guys, I'm looking at getting into sniping but I'm kinda particular with what I want my rifle to be... I'm looking for something scot rifle barrel length (Ares AS-02 as a rough guide) but I'm also thinking that I want something with a folding stock, mainly because one of the sites I play at use alot of vehicles and it's a pain climbing in and out with a full length rifle, and also because i want it so i can throw it onto my back and it be completely out of the way when the environment closes in for me to use my pistol. And also so that I can carry it around when I'm using my general m4 based loadout ... will it be insanely difficult to modify an Ares AS02 to have a folding stock, or is there something else that already fits the bill... (and before you all start I dont have the money or intention to go for an SRS)

Buy one of these Well sniper rifles with folding stock then cut the barrel.
I suspect some models with folding stock are vsr compatible in terms of stock, then you can fit a g-spec to it.
Example: https://www.airsoftstation.com/well-...-sniper-stock/
This one has a straight barrel which makes cutting and refitting very easy.

Only problem with the rifle you have suggested, I was handling one in a local shop the other day, and it was rather weighty for what it is, the fact it's a skeletal stock and nylon fibre body i was expecting lightweight myself but it had a huge amount of heft to it

I thought that was just a joke that you made up.. cause you know, the AS01 was full length, the AS02 was about half that, the AS03 should follow the trend and be half of that. Didn't know you were being serious.

It's a goddamn springer flintlock made from the Striker. What's this world come to?

And your point? If it works then do it.

As for the WELL, you can open it up and remove the weights from it.

My 2 cents:

- Ares Amoeba AS03. It's an incredibly dumb product, but since you fervently wished for a super short rifle it might be your answer at this point.
- Ares Amoeba AS02 and live with the stock. So far the incredibly compact size of the rifle is sufficient and doesn't get in much way compared to the full length VSRs or AS01.
- Golden Eagle Vanquish sniper rifles. They do have a collapsible crane stock, but so far they cannot be upgraded (outside of the VSR-compatible barrel group) and they are pretty heavy at 3.9 kg.
- Tokyo Marui VSR-10 Gspec (or other similar copies).
- Action Army AAC T11 or AAC T11s (the one without a stock).

How about a well MB06 (SR-2) with collapsible crane stock and cut the barrel down? Seems to be the most cost effective. Bone stock with some DIY mods they aren't bad at all. Light weight too. Airsoft Pro parts are available for them as well.

See another thought I had last night is would a under-folding AK wire stock be able to work in an AS03? I cant see there being anything mounted inside that top section of the grip and it would still fold out of the way, then I could just revert back to a longer barrel like the AS02...

Try crane stock like the M14EBR

I'd say to go for the AS02, barrel is short, there are quite a few readily available upgrade parts for it and it's not so heavy. There are always compromises, and I think this is the best you can take for what you said you need =)
