Modular Suppressor

Greetings y'all,

I am currently looking for a suppressor solution for some gas builds I am doing, and I was recently browsing the Novritsch website when I noticed something he is offering that I thought might be useful. I haven't seen it anywhere else at other retailers either so I wanted to share with the forum as it could be useful for all.

https://us.novritsch.com/products/th...3-accessories/

If you get the suppressor they offer for the SSX and couple it with the 14mm adapter further down on the page, you'll have a flexible platform to suppress based on how long you want your rifle to end up being.

(PS: I'm not Novritsch. Just thought it was interesting as I haven't seen modular suppressor designs for our rifles before.)

If anyone's looking for more do-it-yourself materials, the following is pretty neat:

Hey this is really cool. Good find, but what are the best shapes for good suppression?

That question probably deserves its own forum as much as tuning a sniper rifle :P
The beauty is you can just buy a bunch of different styles and do your own research.

More surface area is better. It's why scotch brite pads are so popular. I've found the 'fart flap' works wonders as well on my Mk23.

Beyond those details, I'm afraid we're likely bumping up on the limit of what we're allowed to discuss on this forum per the rules.

Thanks for the information--definitely don't want to break the forum rules and didn't mean to if I already overstepped some.

Are you referring to legal issues related to suppressors? I did look into this and it appears to be a state to state thing (as opposed to federal) and for my location specifically (Colorado) there is a clear distinction between actual RS suppressors and airsoft--the latter being accepted as legal. (Please let me know if my interpretations here are incorrect).

I'm sure Plasma will chime in any moment here, but it's complicated, and they try to keep the forum well on the safe side.
That said, I am really interested to know the details of the legality of the topic. After all, one of the most [financially] successful airsoft businesses (Nov) not only sells a functional suppressor but VERY openly advertises its baffled composition and effectiveness in suppressing sound... If that's legal then I don't see what could possibly be illegal.
[shrugging intensifies]

I believe it has to do with issues in the past with suppressor talk causing issues for the forum. It was much more involved than what we are discussing (likely dealing with actual construction that would work on a real weapon) from what I can infer, but either way, the admin now like to just keep it simple with a "no discussion" rule.

Don't worry belson, most of us couldn't care less about suppressor talk from an individual perspective, this forum just has different rules.

Check out OnmyMk. It'll have all you need for suppressor related info when it comes to plastic bbs guns. Those custom cut foam baffles linked above are certainly nice too. You'll likely find that when it comes to... plastic bb toy guns... only 1-2 inches of foam is necessary beyond the muzzle to silence air expansion. The fart flap in my experience made the largest difference.

To say its complicated is one of the largest understatements on this forum to date. The rule was past well before me being a mod. I think its a stupid rule, but I have yet to convince Wolf to agree to change it. So it shall be enforced.

Basically, as far as the rules are concerned, just don't. Seriously just don't. Besides from a cosmetic stand point, anything past that, I have to smack you with the Mod Mallet. (As the rules are written.) https://www.airsoftsniperforum.com/2...176-rules.html

Just so you all know how I determine when to say something as Mod Plaz and not just Plaz, I go threw a thread, compare each post reported to the rules (as they are written), including thread title, for violations. If I have to make a significant stretch to make it apply, or put significant effort into having to explain why it does fit, then I say something. So, just sayin, I let you guys slide with A LOT.

Wolfgeorge is far less lenient with rule violations then I am. Just be glad I am generally the first one here.
