What Grinds your Gears?

Yeah, post whatever grinds your gears in airsoft! Like noobs doing something stupid, or just something unlucky that happened to you.

Don't use names so we all remain friends. ;)

Special thanks to Livonia for allowing us to have this, and to October for helping with the idea of this thread. Lets fill her up with some funnies

Edit: I'll start:

You know what grinds my gears? A weak day of airsofting.

Ok, so it was the second day out of school, and there was a big airsoft game happening that night. It was just a game with some friends of mine along with some other high school kids, totaling up to be about 25 people. Apparently, the older high school guys wanted to all be on a team (this is when I was a freshmen) versus us young guns. I was phsyched. This was going to be fun. The whole week I asked my friend "what rifle you using" and whats the other guys got. He said mp5, I asked manufactured by who? He said he did not know. I was slightly worried by this, but I let it go. My spotter, rolling with a echo 1 g36, and I with my stock UTG mk96 (had not been upgraded yet...keep that in mind) showed up to the game. I saw these plastic see through rifles like the ones you see at wal mart everywhere. They looked at me as I loaded my m17 gas sidearm and thought I was nuts. Meanwhile they loaded their spring pistols. They all had cheap single shot shotguns, and fake red dots (no function). In fact, one guy had two mags in his pocket that were FAKE! They did not even serve a purpose besides for display. I felt like leaving but decided to stay.

So the game begins. I go into a tree line, see a guy, and take a shot. "Pop" right in the chest. Second shot, hits another guy in the chest. Next, all twelve or so guys on their team just run back to the base and say "stop stop!"

I go up to them, since the game was over, and said whats the problem, is someone hurt? They respond "some dudes got a gas sniper rifle. I said, "who cares if he does? " Then they go "hey its you that has one."

I just looked at them and told them its bolt action, spring powered, and not upgraded, and they would not believe me. I even said who cares if I did have gas anyways?

Long story short, I literally ended a game against about twelve people with two shots. How sad is that. Imagine if one of you maruzen boys showed up

I would go on about the rest of that night, but I do not want to ramble

I guess this applies, but a long time ago i was going to go to my first game at an actual field. I was rolling with my stock echo 1 m16. As my friends came to pick me up, i was walking down the stairs when the threads that held the upper and lower outer barrel together stripped! My gun fell down the stairs which, in turn, cracked the stock and destroyed the hop-up. Obviously, i didn't play with that gun that day, but my friend was nice enough to lend me his old m4 springer shooting a whopping 250 fps with a .12 gram. I got one kill that day but still had a great time. On the good side, the people at my local shop replaced the entire hop-up assembly and bucking for free (extremely great guys)!

What really makes my arse twitch?

People with poor weapon safety drills.

The number of experienced and unexperienced airsofters that I see with their fully loaded weapon casualy purched on their hip, barrel waving around head/face/nut sack height and with their finger hooked round the trigger and the safety off :-/

Its no excuse that we live in a semi gun free society over here, and they are not formaly trained, they should still realise they are still carrying a projectile firing weapon and as such be carrying it as you would a RS weapon :(" title="" border="0"/>

Biggest culprits seem to be CoD no hopers and feking townies ;)

"People with poor weapon safety drills."

This brings me to another one of my gear grinders. I once let a teammate borrow my old sniper rifle, and as we were heading to the opposite base on the other side of the field, I looked at him and saw he had no goggles or safety eye wear. I asked him where they were, and he said he did not need any. I just looked at him and asked him why on earth would you not protect your eyes! Here's the kicker: He replied because I am sniping.

I do not care if he could outrange people by a mile. Anything could happen. Needless to say, I made sure the game never happened until he got some eye wear on.

On another note, people need to keep their goggles on at all times, even if they fog. I cannot even count how many times I have had a perfect opportunity to hit some guy, but his goggles were off, and I had to wait for him to put them back on. Even though I aim at chest for safety reasons, ANYTHING could happen. This kind of crap needs to stop, because someone could get seriously hurt. Thus, jeopardizing the game of airsoft. This is not just a problem here and there, it goes on everywhere throughout the world. Safety is the number one rule for me.

Yikes, sorry for another ramble, I just have so much crap thats happened over the last few years. Its really sad.

I know what you mean, but there was a study done that says an airsoft pellet won't actually "puncture" your eye, but it is still extremely dangerous. I'm not saying that you shouldn't wear protection, but that is just what i heard.

I have lots of bad crap happen to me. I am a organisator of a game field and it's a tough job. So here are few things where I was so close to scream out of anger.

-In my first year of airsofting I had a AtoZ dragunov. I had found a perfect spot to hid in the local gamefiels. I waited a guy to appear (same age as I in those days, 15 years old) and shot him straight to the torso making aloud "snap/poff" sound. The guy just jumped to the ground and looked around. When the guy didn't see nobody he just tough if nobody saw me get shot, I can play. I was furious as thousand monkeys. My best shot in those days ruined.

-Year ago I was playing in "my" game field". I stalked to the "rise fields" wood line and waited for some action. 15min later few youngsters appeared and crouch to the bush. I shot the first guy trough the bush and both of them stand up and yell "hit". I was amused of this. Not a bad memory.

-Oh boy. The final thing that just pushed me to the limit of just running to the woods without clothes and screaming. Berget 7 and the guy which I will not name (let's call him jack) Wandall will share my pain, cause he was on the same team with me. Well Long story short there were a guy who made everything possible wrong. First day that we arrived Sweden (the berget is the largest airsoft game in the Europe. Berget 7 had 1300 players) Jack told us that he had no food with him, only the poor food ticket. So we all were like "WTF, you tough you can live 4 days with only the foodticket" and so my team mate had to give some of his food to him (he had a lot of it, thank god). The evening passed and the FiFinnishompany was ordered to a large attack. 5km hike in the forest to the bacir city. Evening was extremely war and everybody had to carry at least a liter of water with him. This asshat tough it would be a smart idea to take rubber rain hauler over his PDU to the hike. Few kilometers after the 70 men had to stop for him to take his crap off and we had to give him some watter cause he had drinken his own share and had not refilled. There were 2km to still walk when our company was ordered to stop. So we stopped cause the recon team would go before us to find out the enemy numbers. We all were standing on the line (thick forest, no need to lay down) jack was tactically laying in the ground aiming at everything he tough was a thread. My team leader said "for Christ sake, stand up. It's at least 1km to the action". When we finally made contact with the enemy we started to fight. When the enemy called artillery strike on us. we had to fall back. So the order went to the front line to fall back and then the sh*t hit the fan. Everybody fall back expect the Jack whodecided to go Rambo on us. He sprinted to the Forrest alone. The team leader was worried for his ass, cause he still was one of our guys and we just can not leave him behind. So we staid there hoping he would find us. half hour past We saw a guy in the near bush. We yelled "

How about this one? Me and my spotter were playing guard duty at an outpost and some guy sneaks up behind me and puts a grenade down my shirt. Damn ninjas.

What Grinds your Gears?

Ok, so I was playing in a game where 12 people (one being me) hid in the field and the other fella's (like 40 people) would try to find us and shoot us in 30 minutes. Me and my buddies are kinda mad that we got ourselves into this. AGAIN :(" title="" border="0"/> So one guy comes up to us and says "Guys, who wants to go on an adventure?" We decided to take this "adventure" because it would get us hidden well. After walking through endless thorns and crap, we come to a ditch and hide. By then, we here people shooting in the distance (those guy didn't come with us but they knew where we were). Now we are the only ones. Little did we know but the fella's off in the distance GIVE OUR POSITION AWAY!!! 3 of the guys hiding with us (we had 6 guys with us) decide to hide farther down the ditch. After about a minute goes by, 2 of those guys comes back and says "They know our general area. The other guy got screwed" 3 of the people trying to find us are walking right at us through that crap about 50 feet away. So I whisper "Shoot on 3. 1...2...3" and we UNLOAD!!!! only 3 kills though and I realized that the other guys heard us (dumb moment) Then I look up to our left and a guys shoots all of us (5 guys lying near the ditch) and everyone got shot in the head from like 20 feet away. Kinda ticked me off that he didnt just step foward 1 step and say "Bang, you're all dead" Would have liked not to get lit up in the head but its airsoft, what you gonna do?

Dead men who tell tales.

Ive shot a kid in the back, he turned around and his goggles were on his forehead, not over his eyes. I swore at him.

Ive been told "I eat punk kids like you for breakfast, and I'm not afraid to have lunch" By a 30+ year old drunk man at a shitty field in Ohio. Because I confronted him about overkilling everyone he shot. He was openly drinking from a packed cooler between games. Also, not many people in Ohio played with FPS regulations when I skirmished out there. A guy had a beyond 500fps full auto AKM that outranged everyone's bolt action.

Ive been harassed by a police officer who attends games sometimes, he is an embarrassment and the most immature adult I've ever encountered. Hes actually threatened to arrest another player for calling his younger brother (and first time player) a cheater. Said he "assaulted him with a deadly weapon" Motherfucker that's how you play the game. Everyone laughed at him.

I've made a 200 yard crawl in the dead of night at a 24 hour game, grabbed an opponents leg as he walked by me, and surrendered his squad of three guys. They respawned and came right to the area where I surrendered them, basically sprayed at the ground and got me out. Things like that piss me off.

Or when someone you shoot, wonder where the hell you could be since "they could impossibly be hit when they were standing right there" and starts shooting all around to see if the places he suspects of covering you could actually be the place covering you. In other words, a dead guy shooting every damn tree or bush or stone after being shoot, just because he is so damn dumb and curious abouth where you were sniping him from...
