Woodpecker slamming into my window. Shoot or No shoot

So for over 2 weeks now, i've had this idiot woodpecker that keeps slamming into my window every day.

I've decided to let the world decide if it lives or dies or is run off

Comment below.

Should i nail the woodpecker?

What should I nail it with?

1. Airsoft ( so as that it may live, Please chose FPS and type, ive got them all lol )
2. Pellet air rifle
3. 12 gauge
4. 20 gauge black power cannon
5. Low yeld tactical nuke grenade (may not be an option :/ )
6. Flying cat ( i've got an idea for a catapult system, I figured cat is in the name so that must be what they are ment to fire )
7. EVIL STARES and Curse Words

Thoughts?

Trap it, release it in the house and wait for the cat to do its business

Donít shoot it with an Airsoft gun, even low power (sub joule) can hurt a birds. Birds are to delicate and bbs are not accurate enough to nail them square in the fluffy chest feathers.

I once tired to shoot an annoying blue jay with a 290 FPS VSR from 50 ft away. Aimed for the chest and accidentally smacked him in the eye. After a half hour of nursing him & feeling sick about it, the bird was fine, just stunned. But I learned a lesson.

If you do want to eliminate him I suggest the tactical mini nuke. Those are always fun

We had an annoying magpie last summer that clearly had lost its respect for the well being of others so my kid got my blessing to take a shot at it with his Ares Striker at all of 20 feet. No, it didn't kill the magpie but it promptly dropped a juicy turd without even flinching a wing feather. Ok, we laughed for hours over that one, and to this day, it continues to be a source of great amusement once the bourbon kicks in...especially when mama chides the big time hunters that got shat on...

Ok, ffwd to today's woodpecker. Point here is that it's the circle of life, natural selection, and all that jazz. Clearly we have a woodpecker who thinks glass is nutritious. Sorry to say, but not all living things deserve the honour of staying alive if they do dumb things like trying to attack glass. Not because you'll blow its brains out, but it'll probably starve anyways if it can't find the bugs it so desperately is looking for.

No, not all animals are sane, and no, we can't save all of them. That said, in not knowing what kind of reaction a woodpecker would get from being hit with a BB (poop?), dispatch it. Nature will make more...smarter ones, faster ones, that eat bugs like they're supposed to. We're all told the importance of making poor life choices...well, Mr. Woodpecker, you need to learn not to irritate an Apex.

The only thing I request is a fast and efficient end. If you wish to irritate it, use a NERF gun...or shoot next to it to see if it scares, if not, ramp it up. Shoot the bird, it feeds something else, and so on.

(The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.)

....have you stopped and thought, that you may be the annoying one for the bird?

I see where you're going with that Leetworld. Your answer is comendable, but not how the food chain works at all! hahahaha. If we thought that way about the enemy team we'd never win.

I always tell people not to shoot animals (no matter how annoying) with airsoft rifles. If it hits the animal all it will do is hurt it and on the chance that you it did manage to do damage, the animal activists would have a field day if they found out and that may wreck our sport. So to protect our sport, do not use an airsoft rifle.

Ok, all jokes aside...I do NOT condone animal abuse in any way, shape, or form and all previous comments, with the exception of the pooping magpie are for entertainment purposes ONLY. The pooping magpie did happen, but we were fully ready to dispatch it fully as they are considered a nuisance animal in this part of the world. Legal vermin, as it were.

We would never consider shooting an animal for entertainment purposes...always be decisive and shoot to kill. As hunters and fishermen, we only shoot for the purpose of sustenance and not sport. If we can't eat it, or it's not trying to kill us (with the exception of the pooping magpie and gophers that absolutely trash pasture lands) we do not pull the trigger...ever.

Not because of the activists either, but because it's the right thing to do.

Yeah I used to think it was fun to shoot squirrels with my sub joule guns. I donít think I ever hurt them, it was always with sub joule guns, but still small animals have tiny little bones. Itís just not worth maiming little critters. Thatís not fun or funny. The time with the blue jay really opened my eyes to just how inaccurate a bb can be, even at short ranges.

If they are being a nuisance, thatís a whole other matter, and the time to bring out a break barrel pellet gun. But donít risk maiming the poor guy & letting him escaping to die slowly.

After reading all of your posts, long thought and deep consideration I came to a decision.

I shot the bird with the catapult

Twice...

...I have two cats...

...who are now stuck on the roof...

...BUT not hungry

LONG LIVE THE FOOD CHAIN!!!!!

(That was a joke, But in all seriousness I did show both of my cats the dead palm tree where the bird was living... They seem to have solved the problem somehow )

And less to clean up I’m thinking... just a few feathers.

It’s war at the ranch right now with ground squirrels tearing up pasture. M4’s and .22-250 bolt gun. And we finally killed a family of freaking pack rats that were living in my horse barn. Horrible. Stuff missing, the stench, gear chewed up..... little bastards.

Anybody wanting some target practice, come shooting! More ground squirrels than I can shoot in a lifetime.
