So should I get the KJW 1911 Hi-capa over the SSP-1 as it has been around longer and the brand has a good reputation?(not saying that Novritsch doesn't) From what I have read the SSP-1 uses basically Hi-capa parts. Is that right or is it just people not liking Novritsch?

Absolutely, sir...if we could get Marui here, we'd be all over it. Luckily KJW's are ok (better than others) and are readily available, so we're not overly bad off...but yes, a TM would be awesome. Then again, our gas supply is also very limited and our weather sucks. The poor Marui would die here.

Hot dam, “every” European store has them, and al ost every other internet store I’ve seen too. But no import to Canada and differentiated Import that’s extra bad from japan but ok from Taiwan?
My Capa performs very well in -15, dual regulator on hpa the tank takes care of my Capa and my mancraf vsr, damm I love air:).

Well Marui also needs upgrade parts with plastic dying in time, maybe Kjw is better :)

You will struggle to import to Canada as TM are only ever a max of 300 out the box. Don't you have some law that states FPS must be over 363?

Well there is that, Steveocee...our import limit is 366fps and above, so yeah, a whole lot of gas guns are out of the deal for us (AEG's too). That said, there is the odd place that somehow, magically gets them...hmmmm. In box of cereal, maybe? Who knows... There's a whole bunch of pistols here that don't meet that 366 limit, and in fact, alot of the CQB places have a 350fps limit, so how does that all work? Clear as mud.

Some manufacturers will include a thread on barrel/silencer that kicks it over the 366 mark for testing, and when you drop the extension, it drops to about 330-340. That kind of thing. You know, the usual circumvention of a stupid rule to begin with.

Greenlurker, when it comes to logical law making, Canada hasn't even started. It's amazing we haven't been invaded yet.

That is absolutely crazy! I read that somewhere before (probably on this forum somewhere) but it is so wild and made no sense to me I thought I read it wrong or it was a typo or something! LOL! The U.S. has some weird firearm laws (and other lot of other laws too.....my most recent rant to my poor little wifey vaccines) as well. Luckily in ohio, there isn't too many concerning airsoft other than the stupid "bannana/can" laws for air guns that make no sense to me.

Back on subject though and update on my handgun project to get a reasonable price replacement to the TM MK23 with at least close to the performance for us cheapos in north america, first attempt with s-hop ("goo hop") on my gas gun was a failure. It was too soft and also stuck to my wax paper rod to protect ID of barrel and form ID of s-hop. I think my silicon is bad. I am going to "try try again" hopefully soon.

Mr Brinker, I would not have the patience for the 'goo hop'. For all of the reasons you've stated. hahahaha...

Honestly, my kid and I go around and around with this regularly. Best affordable/reliable sidearm. KJ MK2, on green gas (the MK2 takes green gas or CO2). Strong, nice and hefty, stays on target, extremely gas efficient, blah, blah, blah...but man, is it ever a dull looking pistol. No blowback either...dull, dull, dull!!! hahahaha But awesome. It's so dull my kid got himself a KJ Glockenspiel. Sexy tan and black, rolls CO2 like a boss, hits hard...looks AWESOME.

But....here's the but...it's a gas pig compared to the MK2. I really hate to say it, but the *&^%^&$ MK2 is the best airsoft pistol I've ever come across...so, on game day what do I do? Load up my rattle trap of a 1911 (classic WW2 of course) and hit the field. bawwwhaaahaaaa

I’m running a gbb KWA/Umarex HK usp45. It handles .25s like a charm. Mag holds around 23 bbs but the mags are a little pricey. I’m very impressed with the accuracy of the .25s, but I’m going to step it up a bit and see how that plays out for me. I enjoy pistol only matches from time to time and so far no other pistol has been more accurate. (As accurate but not more accurate). Of course I haven’t seen em all and have only actually shot 5, one being a revolver. BUT if the HK ever spits the bits, I will most definitely buy another.

Even without any change inside? Hammer and stuff?
