New/ old idea of inner barrels

Hi, i know this idea cross in your heads once, and maybe this idea may need another check:
What i'm thinking is that the barrel has to have a straight rifling with a inner diameter of 6.0 wide, then for those small spaces, the air will pass through cushioning the path of the bb, but those spaces would have to be 0.2 or 0.3 mm and that would be equivalent to a normal barrel of 6.03.
Maybe it could work ...

In theory, that's terrific... but the BB already centers itself with air on all sides, that's part of the theory of wide bores and smooth bore in general. The problem with rifling of any kind is that it would allow the BB to contact the sidewalls of the barrel and you'd probably knock some of the backspin out of it so maybe even getting less range.

The method of manufacturing such a design would be broaching, which is a technique used for manufacturing internal gear splines.

It'd be expensive.

If only someone make this kind of barrel for testing, what if it works better than any other barrel...But i think some one has to do that research

what if you were to take that second picture and rotate is slightly so one of the groves is on the top. There is a theory that the bb always rides the top of the barrel and this would give it a track to run while smoothing the air underneath it.

And what if the barrel has 2 little groves on top, 2 below, and 2 on both sides(left and right) the air surrounding the bb could help the bb flying straight and not bouncing inside the barrel, i think this should be more with the first barrel, But the diameter of the barrel needs to be tight to the bb, and the groves will help to the cushion

Falcon/ Poseidon /TNT Apsx have inner design near like that. But all of them so..... expensive.

If you want try one, check on ehobbyasia now, they massive sale off Falcon product ( 70% off ), just make sure buy inner have these words" Eight rifling", they sell some normal inner ( copper plated ) with cheap price too.
