A little help for a newbie

Hi all im tye 33 from Australia and am really wanting to get in to sniping but is not easy to do over here . Not allowed to import air soft in to the state . So i am wondering what is a good spring operated sniper rifle to start off with and how to go about getting some sort of parts list so i can over time order everything i need separately. Any info or assistance with this subject would be greatly appreciated.
I do own a 400fps gell ball gun but is not what im really chasing have modded as much as i can .. is limited to a 8mm barrel high speed motor metal internals . So i do know how to put together and some what mod but not sure how different air soft arms are to the gell ball over here
