l96 Guarder springs vs other brands

Hi!

recently i bought m160 aps 96 style spring from Guarder. And i was shocked that this beast is even more powerful than m170 AirsoftPro springs!

is this normal? Do You guys have some comparision to other brands like action army or laylax?

I would like to know how to get stable output near 640-650?
Most games in Poland allows sniper rifles up to 660 fps (measured on 0,2g)
m160 guarder gave me far more than that

I managed to get this kind of fps by placing new Airsoftpro 170 spring but it saddle very fast (i have cm.700 with very long cylinder so any spring shortage makes huge fps drops) so i wold be glad if i can find spring with similar characteristics but with better quality.

sorry for my english

What is the volume of the cylinder in the CM700. Isn't it similar to the VSR10?
You could just add weight to the piston to slow it down. Put Golfer tape on the shaft of the piston or wrap solder around the piston and hold the solder on with a layer of electrical tape.

Just saw a thread that said that the CM700 has a slightly smaller cylinder than the VSR10.
What barrel length and bb weight are you running in it?

Hi,
i do not know if the cylinder volume of cm700 is smaller or bigger than vsr but overall cylinder lenght is longer few cm. So when the spring gets shorter after some period of time, it has less impact on the end of its stroke. In Cm 700 this means that fps can drop even 30 fps after about 400 shots. I tested it with two different Airsoftpro springs and compare it to my friends l96 mb01.

for now i did a little trick and put a spacer on spring guide (about 8mm) and it works quite well but i am looking for a spring that will do the trick without diy mods, because i have feeling that now, the spring gets crooked since it cannot use full lenght of spring guide (i have weird piston-cylinder friction when the spring is loaded, there is no effect like that without the spacer)

i can try to add some weight to the piston with m160 guarder but it is hard to pull compared to m170 Airsoftpro so i would prefer to try some other spring instead.

i am using 455 6.01 lambda barrel and i shoot with 0,48g bbs (now i get about 420 fps on that bb weight with hopup set up to be ready for shooting).
i did not try to chrono it with heavyier bbs but now i get top Joules from 0,45-0,48 bbs so i assume this is ok.

thanks!

well, it shoots very well :) i will probably take it apart by the end of the week and then i will measure it :) P.S. the weird thing is i had a little more fps with stock chamber after oring mod ad some PTFE, but it wasnt so accurate so i put in AA l96 chamber (and its soo good!)

but still. is it normal for m160 guarder (for aps) to be SO HARD? i need a spring that is lighter a bit but do not wear as easy as airsoftpro. will m150 guarder do the trick?

M160's are reasonably hard.

That is about right for an M160. Normally when new, an M160 will actually be doing about 540fps on 0.2gm.
I see that you have the chrono set on 0.48gm. I would presume it should be set on 0.2gm.

I seriously doubt you shot [email protected] and have 5.9J. And not really possible with m160 spring.
Seems about right for [email protected]

belive it or not, i tried to shoot chrono with 0,2g and it was 680 fps so joule creep is massive.

Only thing that came to my mind is wrong spring in the package... i ordered m150 from rainbow8 and i will send results after i get it (2 weeks i think)

Where do you live? Max limit I’ve seen is [email protected]~ and 4J.
M150 stands for 150m/s~ spring, you can’t be doing 210m/s with it, they are usually stronger at first, but not by whole 60m/s! You must have wrong spring inside.

I've read that guarder springs tend to be difficult to cock and very overpowered.

I'd also be curious what weight your piston is?
