A few days ago I purchased a used TM Mk23 Socom because I wanted to see what all the hype is about surrounding this gun. I can safely say it was my best investment yet.

First Impressions

Damn this thing is one big chunk of plastic! But it's definitely sexy for how big it is, probably because it shops at Layne Bryant on the weekends. I feel like I'm carrying around a Desert Eagle.

Whoever was the first and original owner had a fantastic little idea. He melted a white crayon, poured the wax into the trades, froze it in the freezer, took it out and scraped off the excess... And now it's got white trades. I actually think it looks rather nice. Caught me off guard when the seller was advertising it as a TM, because I've never seen trades on the TM inked in white.

It weighs just as much as my full metal m9's did with the LAM and suppressor attached! Very comfortable gun despite it's size. As you can see, I already gave the suppressor a nice matte black paint job. It needed it, it was in some pretty rough shape. Apparently, this is not the suppressor that comes with the gun. Still works all the same.

Functionality

The action on this gun is crisp and surprisingly not so bad of a trigger pull for being a NBB. Like a GBB, you can rack the slide to put a bb in the chamber, or you can simply pull the hammer back like a revolver and it will load a BB into the chamber. Also, can pull the trigger back until the hammer clicks and leave it there to lessen the trigger pull. Not bad, TM really thought this model through very well.

The LAM module is nothing spectacular. The light on it appears to be modified, or maybe not, I don't know. It's not original. I have heard the stock light is cruddy, but this one really isn't so bad. It illuminates the bathroom on the other side of the house, about 75 feet away. I say it's not bad, but again it might be modified for all I know. I have some plans to mod and install a cheapo class II red laser in the LAM unit so I have some functionality there, but otherwise it serves it's purpose as is.

Accuracy

Straight out of the box this thing is accurately hitting man sized targets at 150 feet with .36g madbulls. It's only shooting around 330 with .2's, but that magical TM hopup is just bumping those bb's down range with VERY little effort. I haven't even touched the hop up for adjustments, and it's just taking command for me.

Honestly, this thing shoots the BB's so far that I lose track of them in flight after trying to watch them. Laserbeams too, literally no wobble in trajectory. Even with the wind I see my BB go off target by maybe 2-3 feet at about 150 feet traveling distance which is completely manageable.

Noise Dampening

I've already modified the suppressor myself. Cracked it open, swiss cheesed the inner tube like shown above, and then popped it back in. I filled the void between the shell and the inner barrel with packing foam, and let me tell you this thing sounds like a ladybug farting. It's so dead quiet, I love it.

Other Misc DIY Mods

The sights, unlike my Umarex USP, do not have white dots for easier lining up of targets. I took my dremel with a small drill bit and drilled into the plastic by about 2mm to put dots on either side of the rear sight and the middle of the front sight. I'm planning to drip crayon wax in there like the owner did for the trades, and hopefully have good functioning sights.

Conclusion

All in all, I must say I am very impressed with this gun's build quality. For being a plastic gun, TM never ceases to amaze me with it's quality. I have never had a more accurate or quiet gun in my arsenal before. Can't wait to take it to the field!

Is so good off hand weapon for a sniper i got one of this too..the only one problem i found is:
"WTF where i can put this?!" I buy a Condor leg hostel and seems ok but when i kneel the silencer hit the ground and this is so bad..
Do you found other ways to carry this Bazooka?!?! Eheheh

Tornado drop leg holster holds it pretty well even with the LAM installed. I'd suggest carrying the suppressor separately in a flashlight pouch. Only takes 10 seconds to put it on if you really need to, and if you're hidden enough to use the suppressor for it's intended use which is to completely silence the gun, then you will have enough time to put it on before taking your shots.

Is there anywhere that sells knock-off LAM units? I picked up a TM MK23 but it was only the pistol/original supressor and 3 mags.
Red Wolf used to make this thing called the M97 LAM unit that was basically a revamped LAM unit with a functioning laser light. It cost about 100 dollars or so. I want to pick one up, honestly.

And my TK MK23 with silencer UP fet so good.. the problem is this the silencer is soooo long and i cannot kneel ahahahaha
I know we can carry the silencer in other pouch but i think take out and put on the gun..is too much time spent in this...
Vavann i think in his video got some tactical sling.. idk :\

Used the MK23 today in a pistol only TAG match...it was great! Outranged every other pistol/way quieter so I could be right next to people and pick them off/shoot someone farther away who might see me, and then rush the closer group.

Definitely a beautiful weapon. Just having trouble finding a holster...any good dropleg holsters?

I have a used hurricane drop leg holster I no longer need and could sell for rather cheap. It will fit the MK23 without the LAM attached.

Also, if you are interested, and if he is up to working on another one, you can talk to MasterJuggler98 in regards to a custom holster. He just made me one that fits the full mk23 with the silencer and the LAM attached to it. The quality is absolutely perfect, and his prices are very fair for custom work. Talk to him if you need something special made.

Thanks TJ. At least for now I'm not going to be making those holsters. I need a little more practice/experience with them to make them efficiently. And I'm out of the stiffener material anyway lol.

I won't be making them any time soon, but if you really want to wait, tell me and I'll write take note of who wants them. It's first come first serve, and the same applies for when I do start making them. For now I'm sticking to mag pouches and custom things upon request (if I feel I can make it efficiently of course. Took me way longer than it should have to make TheTJ's holster).

The return spring on my Tokyo Marui MK23 pistol has snapped. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get a replacement part? The only parts manual I could find for the pistol is in Japanese so I don't even know the part number? I live in Canada and have had no success finding the part. I checked US Airsoft online stores without any success either. Any help would be appreciated as I want to keep firing my gun. Thanks.
