Thoughts on Multicam

So I've been considering my options for a new pair of pants for airsoft. I play in the southern end of new York state and was wondering what camo pattern would work best for it? I was considering Multicam jungle or A-TACS FG. Any opinions on the matter? Or any idea where I can get a Crye style and quality pair of pants in the US in atacs?

Multicam tropic isn't bad, but I would still go for atacs FG. I think FG is more suited for airsoft, because the transitions between the colors.
This makes it more effective at short distance (in my opinion at least). The patterns that have more 'hard' transitions (like woodland, dpm, tiger stripe, etc) seem to be more suited for longer distances (like 100-200-300+ meters).

in my personal opinion, the original ATACs is one of the best, if not the very best arid camo. ATACS-FG is just an attempt to monetise on the previous design by providing the much demanded "forest version", but it doesn't work at all. It's just a poor re-coloration, while pattern design for arid and forest should obey to completely different paradigms.

Multicam jungle is quite decent for forest/jungle, funny that it's also the recognition that mulicam was never "multi" at all.

A pic of the environment would greatly help recommend a pattern. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that has no idea how "the southern part of NY" looks like.

I know it's not on your list, but I personally run ATACs iX, and I love it. I'm a little farther south than you though, I'm down in Fl., so I'm not sure what your environment looks like, but down here, the iX works flawlessly. I even sent a pair of them off to ghilliesuits.com and had them make some ghillie pants out of them. Makes a great base for those as well.

I use multicam in the fall/winter, and ATACS FG in the spring/summer here in Colorado. The FG is perfect in my area. Definitely not a poor re-coloration.

90% of forest camos are better than ATACS FG. And probably no camp in the world is better for desert than ATACS AU. Just look at the shapes. Perfect for desert, far from perfect for the forest

That sort of environment in the pic look like the perfect match for good ol white berezka / klmk

Marpat and m81 are too dark for the forests in my area. The colors of ATACS FG blend much better, and look like mossy rock and dirt.

Now that I think about it, even ATACS recognised the limitation of the FG camo when they released the iX cammo, which looks like the lovechild of the older atacs fg and the good 'ol tiger stripe. Shapes much better suited for environment.
