How to dye leaves quick and easy

I dyed some cheap synthetic leaves for my ghillie suit and love how they turned out, hope this helps some of you!

Here is exactly what I did: first I boiled the leaves in a big pot with some dish soap for about 20 minutes. Then I strained them and rinsed them. I replaced the water in the pot with a teaspoon of dish soap and got it almost boiling, added all the dye, tossed in all the leaves. I took some leaves out at 30 minutes, some more at 45 minutes, and then all of them at 60 minutes. when I took the leaves out I rinsed them in cold water. And thats it!

yup thats how I do it, except I wash mine in the washing machine first with some fabric softener and dry them in a fabric bag.
then i add the dish soap to the boiling water with some RIT dye. The dish soap has a surfactant in it that allows better water penetration into fabrics.
I take the leaves out let them air dry.
Once dry I take a candle or lighter and VERY lightly run it across the back until the leaves get a curled up look (for dead leaves).
