Fixing a broken trigger mechanism striker/knocker spring (part 54)

Simply re-posting my solution found below, as someone else recently ran into it and it took me a bit to find my old post...

Spring in question:


It seems when this occurs, the knock arm may not move, and you won't be able to fire.

My solution:

Go to your hardware store and acquire piano wire [or similar spring steel] of the correct diameter, cut it to a reasonable length to work with, shape it appropriately, trim it appropriately.
