Medium budget JG Bar-10 Gspec build diary

I'm already reading this forum long time but don't want to register account until I got the real sniper rifle gun. After 3 years ( first time see this forum ), I got the JG Bar-10 G-spec.

Quote:
I'm playing at the country prohibited Airsoft sport, so the buying is limit at HK sites and time really slow to got, price is much higher.

My goal is simple:
Make it shoot with pretty good range ( ~60m effective range ~200ft is minimal I want ) , silent, enough FPS to reach good range, keep the cost updrages lowest ( I'm tight on budget , need fund for life and another AEGs ), so maybe this build will keep long.

Why I choose JG Bar-10 G-spec ?

After reading ( a lot ) 1tonne thread, I realize the bolt handle will better when in-game, I can replace longer inner barrel without buy another silencer. Although is not really like real M700 remington, but I don't care so much, so it still good for me.

Currently, gun still stock and brand new.

Plan updrages:
Spring : Element M145 ( bought ) ( Can't fit into stock piston, may order new piston or fix the stock piston )

Trigger group: Want to keep the 45* to keep low cost. So
+SHS Steel piston sear ( installed )
+ PPS spring guide stopper , steel made ( bought ) ( Got problem when shooting, will fix later )

Hop-up: Use stock.

Bucking:
+ Lonex 70D ( not order yet )
+ APS brand with flat-nub built-in ( Too thick, make air leak, have to take out ).
+ JG Stock bucking ( in-gun ).

Inner barrel:
+ 510mm steel barrel ( not sure brand ) Done.

Piston: Keep stock, keep air-brake for more silent.
Quote:
BB weight using:
0.3G BB King with 510mm for now.

Plan DIY:
+ increase FPS : add brass spacer from AEG hop-up unit ( added with 4 rings ).
+ Regrease everything. ( Done )
+ Improve two plastic ring where the cylinder move. ( done )
+ Heat sink the cylinder head ( done )
+ Drill a second hole to take out/ screw back the cylinder head more easier. ( Done )
+ Cheese man diy nub on hop-up arm. ( Done, wait for testing )
+ TDC ( Done )
+ Put stock sorbo from aeg cylinder head to cylinder head ( can't got sorbothane, if anyone know any material can act like sorbo, tell me ) ( temp with slipper :P )
+ Easy take out mag ( sticky thread )
+ Improve the friction at 45* trigger system ( read it on airsoftsniper parts.... ) ( Done )
+ CNC hop-up arm ( november )
+ mod the hop-up unit to acept aeg inner barrel. ( Done )
+ Barrel spacer handmade: ( done with 2 , made by masking tape, fit snug )
Some question:
with M145, do I need to replace the stock piston or not ?

If my build got problem some where, just teach me
My english is not first languages. So hope I don't write wrong haha.

Will update the new post and edit the #1 when I done something.

Cheers

13/5/2018
Wow since I have a lot of works on other mine guns. So some updates I changed. ( after this will be very few updates )
+ Installed JJ 90 trigger system
+ Modified mine 55* piston to acept included 90* end shaft piston came with trigger.
+ Bought WELL vsr magazine ( tight fit, have to file some shapes to make it useable , tested both TM and JG vsr-10 ).

- After installed 90 trigger, bolt pull must better , can push bolt back with only one finger, I know it not best but make my gun more comfort. Notes: Since JJ trigger clone PDI design, you can watch on you tube to know the way how to make the trigger pull much smoother.

+ Stock chamber + ML bucking ( autobot 80* ) + ML hop-up arm + ML CJ inner barrel ( 410mm ) very good for .45g ( BLS ), mine gun shoot like laser beam. Use until it break, I will got last piece ML chamber.
+ Stock cylinder ( modified end shaft ) still holding fine, no wobble.
+ SHS/pps cylinder head.
+ Elemenet M145 spring.

Upgrade the bucking (very important) and polish your barrel, you'll need it for accuracy. You can use the stock cylinder, piston, and even the stock hopup chamber, but not the bucking

If you want a silent gun, use a long barrel or a suppressor. The Gspec suppressor is pretty good, but such a short barrel is not very efficient. A long barrel with a suppressor would be the best

if I use 0.4g ( with airbrake piston ), is 500mm barrel is good or I have to find shorter inner barrel?

I'd go with shorter. For .4g go with about 450mm without airbrake, with an airbrake you have even less volume, I'd go with 400mm or so. 430mm is pretty common and will probably work well, would give you a pretty darn quiet rifle I bet.

But I forgot you were using an airbrake... 500mm is too long for .4g with an airbrake

Long barrels aren't all that great anyway, but they are very silent

I'd recommend a maple leaf bucking. You will have to use them along with a maple leaf concave nub though, with a normal nub it does not work.

Such as this one:

Maple Leaf Diamond Hop Up Rubber for Marui KJ WE GBB / VSR (75 Degree)

The concave nub can either be bought or made. I prefer buying one, but if you want to you can also DIY one from a chunk of pencil eraser.

You will also need an unbridged barrel for a maple leaf bucking, otherwise the bucking won't fit. There are two ways to get an unbridged barrel:

-Take any VSR barrel and remove the bridge on the hopup window
-Buy a barrel that doesn't have a bridge in the first place. Such as the action army ones

Action Army 6.01mm Excel Inner Barrel for VSR-10 (430mm)

It's a bit tricky to get that all right, but it has some darn good performance. If you don't want to do all that, then you could also use a PDI W-hold bucking, they are pretty decent too. It works with a standard round nub and it will work on any VSR barrel (bridged or not). They are very soft though so they wear quickly, just keep that in mind if you go with one of those

I wouldn't recommend filing of your bridge on the stock barrel. I bought the maple leaf hop up arm with the concave nub and it doesn't fit. I filled the bridge off my barrel but the nub is way to wide.

I have now since decided to go with a bridged barrel and pdi w hold bucking. I ordered the buckings 2 days ago and they were on sale. Check x-fire they might still be on sale

Then I reckon you have an awfully small barrel window, honestly. The maple leaf nub isn't that wide, it fits in all windows I've ever seen... What barrel are you talking about? Stock JG?

Yep, just the stock barrel. The new red maple leaf hop up arm also has extremely sharp edges. It shaved off a considerable amount of plastic off of my hop up arm adjuster.

Maybe I got a lemon but I would suggest avoiding their
replacement arms. It's a waste of $20

Maple leaf hopup arms? Never heard of those... Just looked it up, seems OK but it uses a fixed nub, which is pretty bad. I'd just go with an AA chamber and a maple leaf nub, that will definitely work (along with the maple leaf bucking). Also allows you to use a wider variety of nubs/buckings

TM chambers with dangerwerx arms (or any other type of arm) is a thing of the past, in my opinion

I do custom woodstock for bar10/vsr10.
Maybe you want to put it on your rifle.
