The hazards of buying used

G'morning all,

This past fall I bought a used JG. VSR-10? BAR-10? Whatever. All the VSR parts I've upgraded in it have fit perfectly.

It seems to have a tapered outer barrel on it.

The original orange muzzle tip was cut off and badly spray painted black.

I'm looking for a muzzle tip/adapter that will fit this. I have no clue what the threads are (CW or CCW) and seem to measure roughly 20mm.

I know there is at least one person on this forum with this exact rifle. What tip/adapter will fit this frankensniper?

Thank you!

Yup.

Which one?

The TM has been out of stock, and the most recent review says it didn't fit on the BAR 10.

The AA one has a review that says it didn't fit (on a TM pro).. it would loosen up and wobble.

Thanks!

I solved my outer barrel problems radically. By buying a new outer barrel and reciever.

That's an option. I'd like the one piece barrel and receiver.

It is not a one piece receiver. I used the maple leaf 303mm bull barrel and the action army reciever. It doesn't fully eliminate the wobble that vsr10s suffer from that the onepiece receiver does. The maple leaf stock, however, does hold it very firmly and the wobble is nonexistent.

As an active sniper, I have never used, nor wished to use a supressor. Convenience, for me is of the upmost importance. Indeed, my vsr10 has a 303mm maple leaf bull barrel, and nothing else. However, if you are inclined to buying a supressor, may I suggest using a 400mm, or there about barrel in a vsr10 prosniper, and then using integral suppression. A barrel length of 400mm (I can't remember the exact value) is ideal and there are loads of good videos on integral suppression. Afterall, the barrels on most airsoft snipers are stylised to look like suppressed ones on a G22.

I have no desire to stick a suppressor on my VSR. I just want the muzzle of the inner barrel to stop wobbling. :-)

Use masking tape to make one.
Wrap 1 layer of Masking tape around the barrel with the sticky side facing outwards (This is so your barrel spacer is not permanently stuck on to your inner barrel). Then with the adhesive sides facing each other (So it is not sticky on the outside) wrap the Masking tape and around and around the inner barrel until it fits snugly into your outer barrel.
Do not use electrical tape as it stretches under tension and then it move by itself. Masking tape does not stretch.
It is normally advisable to have 2-3 spacers in your barrel.
