Improving my ICS MARS DMR SSS - air nozzle and bucking help needed.

Good evening, fellows!

I recently bought a ICS MARS DMR SSS and I am considering a soft upgrade (for now I am not looking for any radical changes).

I read advice in this forum to improve the nozzle (looks like the stock one has no O-ring). I live in Brazil but my father is in Canada for a couple of weeks, so I would like to ask for help in buying a better air nozzle on-line to deliver in Canada.

As far as I could gather information, the little thing need to be 21.00mm long, and some friends suggested Maxx and ICS.

Regarding the bucking, I am considering a Maple Leaf for AEG, but I would like to keep the stock hop up unit. Would this work well?

Any other advice? By the way, I could not decide if I want to change the barrel yet...

Thank you all in advance.

The stock ICS nozzle/hopup setup has super good airseal. You are unlikely to see any improvements unless your rifle is faulty (or below the norm).

Thank you for the fast answer regarding the first point.

If you don’t mind me inquiring a little further, isn’t the need for an o-ring supposedly a big deal?

And to bring me more confusion I found this nozzle from ICS themselves (and has the freaking o-ring):

https://www.mach1airsoft.com/product...lit-gearbox-m4

(SKU#: ICS-MA-344) = $11.95 Canadian bucks.

According to them, This nozzle measures out to 20.95mm.

So ICS themselves have a product...🤪

Good evening and happy new year!

I bought the maple leaf bucking and the above mentioned ICS o-ringed air nozzle. They will arrive soom.

Should I buy a ML nub as well? Would these from China work?

I would love to hear more about what to do and what not to touch in the ICM MARS DMR S3.

By the way, I am enjoying the burst option. It is slow, but I feel will be useful.

Let me ask you a hmm... basic question. Is something happened to airseal in your ICS? Asking because I feel you have a huge will to change something in your replica and I missed what is wrong with it.
ICSs are well known that you can change a few things inside like barrel and spring and be really happy with better performance but if you will mess with nozzles/cylinders you will sooner or later face problems.

Sorry for this basic check - I just hope you know what you are about to do...

Hello Micha!

Thank you for the fair warning. I really appreciate it.

Regarding the nozzle, I was just trying to follow advice regarding the need for o-rings, so I bought ICS ones (I have no idea why ICS do not put then as stock/default but have them for sale).

I have no intention on changing cilinder or anything up the gearbox.

Regarding the bucking, I had great results using Maple Leaf one in my Sniper (Echo1 ASR), so I was willing to try that as well.

Other tham that I am not shure if I should touch the inner barrel as I have no idea if the stock one is already good.

Yes to using the Omega (concave) nub. Maple Leaf buckings are designed to be used with it.

Thank you.

Does anyone knows what kind of inner barrel ICS CXP MARS have? I only know it's black and 458mm in length.

Hi Sage, how did you go with the ICS nozzle?? Im in Brazil and bought a CXCP MMR DMR S3 and have the same issue with the original ABS nozzle. The original I measured with a paquimeter and it was 21mm exact. Does this 20.95mm worked on yours?? Thanks man
