I would have loved to have the Cyma version with the retro arms gearbox. So convenient to have a quick change spring. Not sure if it fits the Retro Arms GB though. You may be able to look it up on FB under something like Airsoft SR25 Owners Group or something like that. There is bound to be something like that on there.
If you do find out, it would be great to know.

Well UA, built one based on the cyma but no mention to the gearbox...

https://umbrellaarmory.com/collectio...ded-to-500-fps

Also the cyma doesnt seem to lock semi physically in the selector from what i've seen...

A bit of epoxy built up to stop the selector from traveling past semi would do it if needed. Or drill/tap a 2mm capscrew to act as the stopper. 2mm needs a 1/16 hole to run the tap through.

hi to all
I purchased the CYMA Sr25 and waiting for delivery.
Description seems promising and i decided to start researching for upgrading a few inner parts, like Isamu said.

1)HOP UP unit
2)HOP UP nub
3)HOP UP bucking
4)Inner Barrel
5)Spring (need to downgrade for 450fps fields limitations)

Open to your suggestions for the above inner parts!

HOP UP unit:

I read that these are good suggestions:
Maxx
Lonex
Prometheus neo
Retro Arms
ProWin Maxx

Thinking to choose one of these:
https://www.maxxmodel.com/cnc-alumin...DESC&limit=100
https://www.maxxmodel.com/cnc-alumin...DESC&limit=100

Here are some questions about these HOPUP units: Hoping some one knows and can help me!

1) Are these HopUp units compatible with the CM.098 E-edition? These two units fit perfectly or modifications required?

2) Can i install an unbridged inner barrel to these HopUp units, like Maple Leaf Crazy Jet & RA-Tech barrels? Or only bridged barrels for AEGs?

3) Can i install Maple Leaf Ωmega concave nub & Maple Leaf MR-Hop buckings to these HopUp units?

Maple leaf sells a bucking that will allow you to use a crazy jet barrel in an AEG (Hot Shot bucking). They also have released an AEG version of the MR Hop, however you can't use it with an unbridged barrel

The stock one will most likely be just as good as an upgraded one. As long as it seals.

Hot Shot bucking normally leaks like a sieve.

1tonne, I thought I had heard something like that..... I'm just gonna throw a MR Hop on my stock barrel in my M14. Unfortunately, 60 degree was out of stock. I had to do a 70.

thank you guys for your replies! I need to test if the stock HopUP is adequate.
Just to inform you (i emailed Maxx Model Products and asked them) that Maxx ME PRO HopUp is compatible with CM.098 rifle

edit:
CM.098 E-Edition:
Stock HopUp, bucking & nub combination, aren't adequate to lift heavy bbs. I test it with 0.48gr and bbs are falling ~30m, even with maxed hopup.
Shooting 0.20gr, 0.25gr bbs accurately 50+ m.

I finally took the plunge and ordered the CYMA SR25, hopefully will have it next week.

I also ordered a Maple Leaf Monster 75 degress hop up rubber with omega delayer to be installed right away.

Once I receive it, I will test it with 0.30g BBs and 0.40g BBs to see how the hop up works with the new rubber. And I will also give my thoughts on the gun itself and review it best I can.

I finally got my rifle delivered, so here are my impressions:

I am really impressed with the external build quality. Gun feels very solid, nothing creaks or moves, props to CYMA for it. Everything is metal except for the stock and pistol grip. The supressor feels very sturdy and loks in place firmly.

Suprisingly, my gun came prewired to T connect, which I was not expecting. Also I got a NiMh 9.6v battery in small tamiya (the shop was kind of enough to provide an adaptor to connect the battery).

I immediately installed a new hop up rubber and delayer, gonna test how the gun performs with 0.3g and 0.4g BBs tomorrow, since today it is raining like hell.

And here is my long boi with a phat scope.

Im not sure what are the rules about triple posting, but here we go:

I tested out the gun with the stock 9.6v battery and ran into a design issue, that it is kind of hard to remove the battery, unless you put it in a specific way, otherwise, you would ned to unscreww the back plate of the stock, minor issue, but annoying.

So, trigger response with 9.6v is amazing, cant complain with it. Issue is with the shoointg i found. Tested with 0.3g and they hop flawlessly, however they curve to the right after 30-40m, tested with 0.4g bbs, they curved less and still could have been over hopped!

I will get myself some 0.45g Bbs or even heavier, to see what is the maximum weight I can hop.

Altho, I would like to find out, why are the BBs curving to the right, perhaps I would need to clean the barrel or change it or refit the hop up rubber. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

EDIT: Disassembled the barrel group, found the barrel was misaligned. Aligned the barrel properly, should hace the issue fixed. Will go and test it out.
