CYMA Sr25 vs JG/ Golden Eagle SR25

Heya! I want to get my self a DMR, but I dont know, which one to get as a base. From the first look, the CYMA CM.098 is my first go to choice, since after doing some research, it would need little upgrades, except for a better hop up, barrel and spring, while the Golden Eagle/JG might more than that. Has anyone encounterred them and can give some input?

The CYMA SR25

The JG/Golden Eagle SR25

I have not one of those or heard about them, bu on paper, they look pretty awesome. If you expect great performance, I don't think they have it on them unless you sink a pretty penny on them, but if you want a decent DMR, I'm sure they will be good.

If I were to upgrade one of those I would change the barrel, bucking, nub and hop chamber. the upgrades depend on you budget but my suggestion is:

Maple leaf super macaron bucking, 60 or 70
Maple leaf Crazy Jet Barrel
Maple leaf concave nub
Element or SHS prowin style hop chamber
Appropiate power spring of your choosing, but maybe TaiwanGun can clip a couple of coils from the stock one for free

Well, Im hoping to achieve the maximum power limit of 2.89J here, so I am planning of dropping in an M160 inside. From what you have seen, which one is a better base? The CYMA or JG?

I say Cyma, you get nicer externals and internals, but I you are planning on putting an M160 there... I would check with a tech before fielding the gun, not many can withstand such spring in their stock form, not even high end ones

I use big springs in some of my rifles. Just make sure that you have a mag well brace. This will take shock from the front of the gearbox and put it into the receiver. So it spreads the energy.
Let us know how you get on with the 2.89joules. It is always interesting to hear as not many people try this.

After doing some more research, im leaning more towards the CYMA. AFAIK it has the proper long SR25 gearbox, better starter internals and the quick change system.

The jg is a standard cylinder with a bespoke gearbox and cylinder head/nozzle. What does the cyma have for a gearbox? If it’s an extended one like g&p, ca, a&k then definitely go cyma

I wouldn't trust the words "Long Gearbox Frame". The JG has a long V2 gearbox frame too but the standard cylinder. It will be great if it is the longer cylinder. This could be the next "Go to" DMR rifle.

CYMA version use 19 tooths gear set, so I bet 100% it will be v2.5 gearbox

Have you ever laid your hands on the Cyma? And from your knowledge, what would you reccommend changing of the internals?

Not on one of their AR15 platforms. Though from what I know of, Cyma and A&K are made by the same manufacturer. A&K are normally pretty good value for money gun but the Cyma looks better than an A&K
