AEG: Madbull Steel and Prometheus Purple, or try Crazy Jet with Hot Shot?

I'm working on a CYMA P90 and looking to change out it's barrel and hop rubber. I was going to use a stainless steel Madbull tight bore with Prometheus Purple bucking, but I'm curious about the hot shot/crazy jet combo. I can get it for less than the Madbull/Prometheus combo but I see mixed reports; think I'd get better results with Maple Leaf?

The hype behind maple leaf is immense. There are more options to try. Action army, poseidon, prometheus, etc.

I had a TM P90 a couple of years ago.I was using an r-hopped promy delta strike barrel (with the included purple nub-less hop-up rubber) with excellent results. The only downside was the use of a harder spring due to the wider barrel diameter (6,20mm). It sent the 0,30gr bb's 60-65 meters away, with very good accuracy (8/10 man sized target) utilizing only 350 fps (measured with 0,20gr). Everything else was stock.

If your goal is a cqb weapon though, you probably don't need range but accuracy.

The hotshot and crazy jet is a great combo, but I would use the omega nub not the included hotshot nub.

I'm all for crazy jet + hot shot. But remember that those buckings may be a little loose fit for many chambers, so teflon tape mod is usually needed

I ended up going for ZCI because it was 15 vs 40 for the Crazy Jet, combining it with an ML Macaron. I think I'll probably still drop the 50 to get CJ+HS combo because I'm curious enough to want to compare.

Keep us up to date; also you should try both buckings with both barrels to make a better comparison

Unless I misunderstood I don't think I can do this; I'm told CJs are unbridged, would an AEG bucking work with that?

Change of plan, Maple Leaf have come out with a new bucking for using CJs in AEGs; Super Macaron. Looks longer than the hot shot, might make for a better fit in most hop chambers. Think I'll get that instead.

Pretty sure those are NOT for CJ barrels (or any other GBB barrel) but for AEG barrels.

Super Macaron is the new gen in the monster --> mararon series, the ones for AEG barrels.
Not in the line of hybrid --> hot shot, which are meant to use GBB barrels on AEGs

According to skirmshop, these super macaron buckings allow you to use CJ barrels in AEGs.

I would still do the Hot Shot bucking over this new one. The Hot Shot will have better air seal with the barrel. While I am sure this new bucking will likely be fine, I am not really going to change my current formula with this new bucking that claims to be able to be used universally with AEG and GBB barrels. I am fairly sure there is a weak point in that bucking somewhere.

I already ordered one, to see what it will do. I am going to test it in my polarstar with a modded PDI 303 vsr barrel.

Just to report back on this, these Super Macarons are interesting and slightly nonsensical. So firstly, they're for a bridged barrel, they have the gap between the lips and the contact patch unlike the Hot Shot. However they also have the rim for a GBB/VSR cut barrel. This only makes sense if the crazy jet AEG barrels are bridged?

In any case the Super Macarons are for barrels that are both BRIDGED AND GBB/VSR CUT. What makes them interesting is that the contract patch is much larger than on the normal Macarons. More like a diamond. I might put a notch in a cheap AEG barrel to try them.

I fully gutted and upgraded a CYMA P90 recently.

Standard ZCI 6.02 tightbore, prowin/bigdragon hop unit and standard Prommy purple is a killer combination for not a lot of money at all.

I can't see any real difference in range from the prommy barrels I used to buy.
