Wolverine Bolt Tuning Kit

Hello, I could not find info ANYWHERE on how to install the tuning kit for the Wolverine bolt. It’s not that complicated, it’s just a spring and a few shims depending on your pressure.

The instructions on how to take the bolt apart can be found on their website, but my question is;

Does it matter which side of the spring the shims go on? If you run 2 shims with the spring, do they go on one side or one on each??

Agreed ^ minus the fact that I put one on the internal end, as there's a sort of ledge there which I worry the spring may actually be able to step down under heavy compression, potentially causing it to buckle- putting a shim there results in a bit wider a ring for the spring to contact. I'm probably paranoid, but I don't think it really matters which side they go on at all- I asked Wolverine and didn't get a response.

In regards to my comment I meant the email was helpful with installing the air saver. As far is the air saver actually helpful? For my 2 cents on that I will say I honestly haven’t compared it to a setup without the air saver kit. I have a few vsr rifles all with different barrel lengths and bores, that I swap around constantly. Out of my 4-5 Wolverine bolts, I don’t even remember which ones have the kit lol. I bet it does help if you have the right variables and actually use the proper combination of spring and shims. But I also bet it will save you like 5 psi on your regulator to get you at the fps you want lol. I just threw it in and thought to myself: “yea upgrades!!! I’m saving air!!”

Yes it does, I have noticed a decrease in sound, and so did my mom who doesn't really pay attention to my upgrades or whatever else.
If you plan on running something smaller that a 13/3,000 tank I would highly recommend it, as you will get 10%-65% more shots according to my brief tests.
I do not recommend it unless you are using a 400mm+ inner barrel as you will need all of the air you can get for a shorter one.

Yes, it will lower joules, but you will still get significant creep.
I bet you will get even more shots, as I get at least 50 more shots.
I use the red spring, 3 shims, .48-.45 BBs, and an Airsoft Philosopher 6.04X475mm barrel.
I use between 115-160 PSI to get 2.3-2.81J, and I have a higher pressure spring coming in so I can crank my regulator all of the way to 220 PSI if I feel the need for 4J or something ridiculous.
So yeah, I would highly suggest an airsaver.

Ok, so the regular spring is silver, and has zero shims, I recommend it for sub 350mm barrels, and the kit comes with a stronger spring that is red as well as 3 shims.
They just close off the air faster or something, so they make longer barrels even more efficient than they already are.
Of course, installing the airsaver kit will decrease FPS, but once you turn up your PSI to your desired power level with whatever BBs you plan on using you WILL notice an increase in shots, less sound, and MAYBE better accuracy, maybe.
So yeah, you may as well get it and try it out, especially if you use a 13/3,000 or CO2 capsules.
Btw, I get roughly 350 shots at 2.7-9J from a 12.204X4500 air tank, so with my setup should get roughly 260 shots per fill.
In my case I can over pressure to 5,000PSI, resulting in about 400 shots.
So, between your new barrel and an airsaver you should be able to achieve better shot count than I if you use the same BBs and power.
Btw, you are right about the only 2 shims, but I use 3 and nothing bad gas happened to me lol

I assume that they work well with the BOLT, don't see why they wouldn't.

For my receiver, a Tokyo Marui VSR-10 one, I put a big piece of tape on the inside covering that large hole, and I filled it with epoxy resin and I drilled a very exact hole using a drill press.
In fact, it was so tight that I needed a but of sandpaper and some grease to install my air fitting.

Off topic a bit, but my air fitting was pretty screwed up from the last owner, so I made a new one with a sacrificial Acetal glide sleeve so I don't destroy my cylinder and so I have a smoother pull with less noise.
Also added a 10-32X1/8X90° swivel air fitting and some 1/4X1/8 air line for extra strength (it will support my 152 pound weight while I could break the 1/8X1/16 line with my hands) as well as a significantly faster refresh, which boosted my FPS consistency significantly.

Also polished the outside of my aluminum cylinder (no more record scratch sound) and I made a new extended guide sleeve for the main engine, it's the perfect size, snug but smooth.
