I have never owned an SRS. Just one question. Does it use VSR10 springs? If so, you could use Laylax VSR10 springs as they do not have the twang that other springs have.

1tonne they use aps2 Springs in the pull, and aeg springs in the push. Also silverback has a Teflon spring guide that really helps.

I ran a strip of electrical tape along the spring guide length wise without any overlap and just short of the tip. Added a little silicone grease and done...

It's an APS2 spring.

The teflon guide may help but Snipermechanic wrote it caused inconsistency shot to shot. There is the suggestion to shim the guide with a cut up can but that's just a bad idea in my eyes introducing more and sharp metal.

The tape method is going to be my approach once I get her in my hands.

I bought the VRAG adjustable springguide from faceless, works like a charm. Specially after i found out that every spring is different: the sb160 fits tight and makes no sound, the sb150 and sb170 had like a tiny bit diameter differences.

How does that work/make it quieter?

From the looks of it, it has a rubber buffer that expands when tightened to take up the space from different springs.
