I have all the stuff to refinish the stock, but it's just been too cold where I live to apply the tru-oil

Thin it down with Turpintine, that should help you out. also makes for more even coats and less run.

thanks for the advice, the main problem i have is the cosmoline thats impregnated into the wood. I've heard brakleen gets it off, but is that any good for the wood?

NO! A weaver rail on a WW2 gun is a DEFINITE NO!!!! T-T

I just put a Rock Solid Inc mount on my M44, it is beast. Nice Mosin Nagant 91/30.

Edit: I agree with Wandall, a Weaver/Picitanny rail doesn't belong on a WWII rifle, but I like the fact that I can put any type of scope on it. I did put a PU 1in scope mount on my 91/30 and it looks pretty nice; I prefer the old style of scope mounts and the mounting process. Again I like the Saiga and the Mosin's.
