Tomarrow I will be playing with about 8 people total at my friends work place where they own a old abandoned factory where I may get tetnis (good thing I got my shots:) ) any way. I have NEVER sniped in an ALL urban area. I don't know how to even make an urban hide and barely know what I should wear etc. please help! P.S sorry for the $ sighn it was suppose to be a !

I don't play much in urban areas, but one thing I never do is stick my rifle out a window or anything like that. You become an easy target for bang kills, and are spotted very easily.

I would run a light set up. Only the essentials. I would have my pistol mags positioned so that they are most easily accessible during a reload situation. In environments that can lead to CQB situations, I always find myself using my pistol more than I would like. If I were in a urban environment, my pistol holster would be positioned differently from that in a woodland environment while running a ghillie suit. Just something to think about.

Hopefully snake pops on. Haven't seen him much lately though. Anyway, he played urban not too long ago and got some SWEET picks as well as apparently kicking butt. Can't say much myself as I have played very little urban. But yes, keep pistol and mags READILY available. Go for a light, mobile loadout with neutral colors. Oh... you could watch some of Kultabashi's videos and his friends. They snipe in a factory type place. Pretty cool footage too. Just an idea. Let us know how it goes!

I just got back from the game and it was pretty fun:) I did pretty well and didn't get hit once:) so I gusse I was worried about nothing! I wore my just my MARPAT, concealment vest and a veil.

The only thing I got for you is to widen your shooting stance a bit. We ain't shooting real rifles, but will help keep things steady especially if remaining in that position for a while.

I like the pics. Not much of an urban player, but looks like it was a good experience.

Like Fuzzywolly said earlier on. Never sick your gun out the window. Make a hide a meter or 2 back from the window. Often it is best to shoot from deep inside the building aiming out a window as there will be less light on you.

Good to know you did well. If you want more insight on how a sniper should perform in urban areas, you should read about urban conflicts. WWII sniping is a great starting point, but also recent conflicts like Russian in Dagestan and both Chechen Wars, or the USA intervention in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The basics are pretty simple: use really loose clothing (like you did), know and exploit the Sun's position, and move slow. If you need to change position quickly or move to another firing position, use your pistol a lot (a decathlon style sling for your rifle would be preferable). Once in your final shooting position, stay away from windows and doors, deep inside the room, and take advantage of the darkness. Avoid high places that will skyline you no matter what.

I'm used to snipe a lot in CQB areas (where most would say "this is not a game for snipers") and it's quickly becoming my favourite kind of scenario: nothing works best than being where you are not expected. I even started carrying a (camera) tripod in a shotgun scabbard to be able to get extremely steady shots from a standing position inside the room, and it works great.

+1 to everybody who tells you to avoid sticking your rifle out of a window, HUGE no no. Take 1-2 guys with you (smaller team makes you stealthier) and put them in the building on defense, and stand back in the room and shoot out of the window. Stay as far from the window as you can.

nice one!:) The Urban Environment is TOUGHER for a sniper, compared to Standard WOODY or JUNGLE Type Environments. Because if you DON'T know how to maximize your surroundings.... you're just as much as a target like everyone else.

Urban Terrain has MORE SPACES for you to CRAWL INTO, if you know how to USE your imagination UTILIZE the area. Here are some TIPS for the URBAN HUNTER.

- WINDOWS, are obvious shooting zones... stay as far as possible from the opening, as mentioned, dont stick out your gun.

- CORNERS, are also very useful. Wait for your PREY to WALK into your line of fire.

- Objects, like CARS, BARRICADES and other Large items... may have openings near the ground. The lower you are to the GROUND, the LESS Obvious you are as a Target.
- SHADOWS, are your BEST FRIEND, Utilize as much as possible in ALL areas where you an hide.

- Urban Environments, provide a Myriad of Bottle Necks that can be used as KILL ZONES and areas that can be used to FLANK other snipers... in this case, all HUNTERS should be aware of these terrain features.

- A ghillie MAY HELP break your outline.. augment with Natural vegetation in the area if possible. The Ghillie, will give you a 1 Second 1st strike advantage, once you are spotted...specially on the ground, your enemy will have to THINK...."Human or plant?" that's when you strike.

- Learn where to transfer to, once you fire one or 2 shots.... THINK AHEAD of YOUR PREY, every action you make, should be DELIBERATE. This is definitely a MUST for HIGHER VANTAGE POINTS

- AN EFFECTIVE SNIPER, in urban terrain... can STOP a 5- 7 man TEAM on its Tracks with just one shot. a .43 BB at 430fps, will have a DISTINCT "WHISTLING SOUND" as the projectile SLICES Through AIR, HIGHER FPS makes the WHISTLING SOUND Even more stronger. Striking a KEY individual in a 5 man team (Point man, Leader...etc etc) will paralyze that team. Terrorizing your enemy, with Followup shots of your "WHISTLING BBS"... will make them think twice if they should MOVE ON into your line of fire, or retreat..

Nonetheless..... YOU CONTROL THE FIELD.

Happy Hunting:)

Great post Kultabashi. Arguably the CAPS made it slightly harder to read but...:) great advice. Now I want to go urban lol:)
lol, sorry dude... i just wanted to emphasize on the word.... added drama effect if you will :)

Dame you Kultabashi! you make me jealous once more! LOL nice pics and input of the Urban-Sniper field.

Ok my turn " like anyone will pay attention", pretty much stick to the shadows as much as possible, make your target come into your field of view. Not under ANY circumstances should you do the "Hollywood Sniper + Window trick ", it will only get you caught. I thought they would never find me when I first did that... took them 5mins and they had me with grenades and a Breach team. Try to be in the farthest part of the building where you are able to see the "Killing Field" and also wear black or dark blue clothing, a like stated before a Ghillie will help but you will have to act fairy fast if they spot you so be light on your feet and be ready to get you sidearm.
