Hey guys! This is my second post on this forum and have enjoyed my experience here a lot! Anyways, i have a matrix well mb03 and am selling it to a friend because I've heard upgrading the mb03's can be a hassle, and seeing as this is my first build i would rather go with an easier platform (compatibility wise) such as the mb04.

WELL MB04 APS Bolt Action Airsoft Sniper Rifle w/ Bipod & Scope (500+ FPS), Accessories & Parts, Sniper Rifle Parts, *Shop by Model, APS-2 / Type 96 - Evike.com Airsoft Superstore

This is the gun i am going to purchase. Seeing as it is $150, im already a bit in the "money pit". I have a budget of $200 total, but i will be receiving $50 for my mb03, so i have another $100 to spend on upgrades (if its a little more expensive however, i wont mind. The budget isn't too strict).

I need someone who can give me a tutorial for this gun of sorts. If you could, point me in the right direction of what parts to get first, who makes the part that will fit my specific gun with no problems, maybe where could i find that part? After i initially spend my budget, i will eventually do some more upgrades so im also interested in what upgrades ill need that fit my budget right off the bat. My overall goal is accuracy at around 80-100 yards

2: AA chamber
3: UTG metal upgrade kit
4: Profit

This thread will answer a good number of your questions. Here

For the books, the MB05 and MB04 are the same internally, so if you see MB05 mentioned in that thread, the information is applicable to the gun you are looking at.

Do yourself a favour, buy an airsoftpro trigger + piston set for your MB-03 (for $80 or so), along with an AA chamber ($60), an AA barrel ($40) and a maple leaf bucking + nub ($15).

If you buy the MB-04 you'll probably go over budget since you will still need a chamber, barrel, bucking/nub. If you do buy those you'll be at a higher price than the MB-03 but you'll still have the stock trigger and cylinder internals.

Go with upgrading the MB-03. Upgrading them is not a hassle, you just need to buy the right piston for them. It'll be a cheaper option, not to mention easier since the hopup design of a VSR is better...

80-100 Yard range with 100$ worth of upgrades is virtually unobtainable unless you are some sort of airsoft wizard. As Reliku has suggested Action Army makes some pretty good stuff for cheap, though I haven't heard great things about their barrels. IMO Save up for a Prometheus, PDI or even EdGi barrel in the future. Just remember to polish your barrel regularly and treat it nicely until you get a new barrel. A new bucking is a must, for the VSR get the 9Ball Purple. An AA Trigger and Chamber will do just fine, very good quality for price. Of course you could always try to squeeze some extra range out of DIY mods such as the R-Hop or LRB; both these can be found on the forum, just search. I'm not extremely familiar with APS2 rifles but I do know the basics, there are many upgrade guides found on the forum that contain a lot of valuable information to you.

That'll work, both setups will work. Just make sure you get a maple leaf monster vsr bucking if you upgrade the mb03.

I'd upgrade the MB03. It's cheaper and will perform a little better with the same amount of work. Not to mention it'll be lighter too.

Not really contributing, but...

Damn that's expensive. I bought one of them from WGC for US$99 inc scope & bipod about a year - 2 years ago. Preferred the VSR model better so sold it and moved on. To be fair, I thought that model had been discontinued so maybe that's why the price is so steep. That, or Evike being Evike.
