Uar dmr

ok. im sure quite a few of you looked at the title of this thread, and dont know what to think. Well, i received a challenge from a friend to build a rediculous DMR. and i just happened to have a APS UAR on my wall. so my task started. even with a 509mm barrel, the gun sizes in at just under two and a half feet long. im currently working on the gear box, and over all, it may be the eastiest dmr i have ever built. WHat are you guys thoughts on this. and what unexpected marksmans rifles have you built/seen?

I mean, with enough work any gun with a regular gearbox can be made into a DMR. If I'm not mistaken, the APS UAR has a v3 metal gearbox, so if I were doing the build, I'd get a bore-up kit APS Bore-up Cylinder Set for Ver.3 Airsoft AEG Gearboxes, Accessories & Parts, Internal Parts, Cylinder Tune-Up Kits - Evike.com Airsoft Superstore so that I could get more air volume.

Actually have one of those as a dmr, love it! Keep the stock barrel though it's one of the best. The only cons are limited battery space and the long lose trigger pull.

I mean it's only a weird thought because I've heard of the aps uar being an unreliable gun, but if you're redoing the internals it'd be a more interesting DMR than some kind of m4 variant.

Also not all mid/low-caps are compatible but you can rework the mag-well easy enough with a dremel to make all fit.

If you are going to make it a dmr you're gonna swap some internals anyway so not that weird.

I do have the v2 uat, and am currently rebuilding the gearbox. yeah, the trigger pull is long but I may have found a solution

I tried to shorten it as well but its the trigger on the v.3 gb itself, the reset is pretty far forward and unless you set it back you can't shorten the pull.

im adding a block to the trigger, so it is partially pulled. currently experimenting with that, as jostling sometimessets of trigger. cant get my set if calipers in there..

There is a screw you can turn to do what you are trying to do. It's located in the back where the trigger from the gearbox would be. If you pull the trigger on the frame you can see a metal bar move, the screw is underneath it.

Works for full auto but the trigger wont reset on semi.
