Hop up bucking

What better hop up bucking between these two, prometheus straight chamber packing or Maple leaf monster with nub.
I use a action army hop up and 6.01 barrel, country limit is 374 fps, use .30 most of the time, but sometimes use .36 BB´s.

There are AA chambers for L96 too, and they do use AEG buckings and barrels.

As said above, Prometheus straight are good only if you use "Japanese spec" bbs, that's 5.85 or 5.88mm. Which come only up to .30g (KSC Perfect .30g)

Regular 5.95bbs, like all heavyweights, will get stuck in that setup.

For an L96, the best results are always a good sealing hop bucking, flat hopped with H nub.

So the good old Madbull red AEG bucking, modded to take the internal mound off and with a H-nub is usually the best option.

If feeling experimental, I would try instead the Maple Leaf Hot Shot buckings (the newer version of the ML Hybrid), with a Maple Leaf Crazy Jet GBB barrel in your desired length.

The regular Maple Leaf AEG Monster is regarded as "not that good"

Oh? Interesting. I have a prommy purple bucking on mine with the PDI Brass Hop up unit. I noticed when assembling it that the AEG barrel butts the bucking into the unit and creates somewhat of this second seal ring inside (from the little tail end of the bucking).

It's a flat prommy and it comes with the standard nub. I think my issue with the left/right has to do with the concave spacer I inserted. The PDI hop up has a really wide slot where the arm contacts the bucking. But, the barrel's slot is smaller than the width of the hop up window. I think my left/right problem has to do with how wide my spacer is. I'm going to do some modifications tonight and see if I can get it to improve.

I also came into various tubing materials to experiment with my spacer patch ranging from hard plastics to soft silicon. There should be a sweet spot between the hard and soft that will give me a concave contact but yield enough as to not brake the BB.

L96s are a pain, but I love the feel and grip of them.

i´m using the promy one with the maple nub, isn´t bad but im going to try, again, the maple with the nub with a small change, cutting a small bit of a pen charger and cutting it in half to make a concave kind of nub, to put between the hop arm and nub to get a bit more tension. Do you guys think that can work?

That's what I did to mine. I have a normal nub and a cut of some thick wall vinyl tubing. (Clear shit. You can get some from Home Depot. Ask if you can cut a 3" sample. That'll last you for some time) I set the concave cut of tube atop the bucking and put a dab of rubber cement in the crook of the hop up arm. I set the little nub dead center and assembled. Shooting straight and I need the slightest of hop up for .40s

Ah yes, the L96..my personal fave. I r hopped mine. I use the original bucking but sealed it up with RTV (silicone gasket maker) and gave it a nice long cure time. ZERO air leaks and the r hop is phenomenal. I made my own arm but still use the stock (albeit modified) hop up chamber and changed the shape of the hop window slightly in the stock barrel. The idea was to see how I could improve on the factory design instead of swapping all the internals. At one point I did use a CNC hop up chamber and AEG barrel, while I was working on the science of the stock parts. Now it's all back to original but modified components and working just fantastic.

Anyhew, the point of all this is to say that you can successfully r hop the L96, even with the stock brass barrel, and get some great results.
