Random flyers every few shots

I put together my Well mk96 with AA hop-up chamber, AA 6.03mm barrel, and ML bucking + nub, using 0.4g BBs. The groupings are fantastic when working but 1 or 2 out of 10 shots will randomly overhop a crazy amount (like a foot higher than normal @ 150ft). Other than the flyers, it will hit a soda can at 150ft every shot.

I've cleaned everything out a couple times but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Any ideas to eliminate random flyers?

Get a scale and weigh your bbs to the .000, I would think that those fliers are underweight or have some kind of defect like air bubbles.

Inconsistencies in BB's is huge. What brand and weight are you using?

So a bigger bb of the same mass could also have that effect? Is it because there is more for the hop to grip but a lower relative weight?

I'm using BLS 0.4g BIOs
I don't think I have an effective way to measure oversized BB's but I'll find my shipping weight scale and track what I load in the gun next time. Thanks for the idea!

To be fair, let's say that 1.5 out of 10 shots is a flyer. That's a pass rate of 85%. Not bad for a plastic BB, really. It's not likely a bad rifle at that point. The science of BB is far from perfect...it's a tiny plastic ball. It's going to happen.
