My name is Mike. I don't really play in the field, but want to do some plinking in the backyard by myself or with some friend's kids visiting occasionally.
I played paintball for a bit about 10 years ago and I own some real firearms and used to make/reload rifle ammo at home.
I have a basic Airsoft AEG - ASG FLCN 400fps and that thing is better than I expected. At 15m (50ft) it often puts bursts of 10 bbs into the same 1cm hole, but it's not consistent. Quite often some balls end up 3-5cm away from others.
I want to get a spring bolt action rifle, compare and possibly improve the accuracy. Not ready to pay 400-600 USD for something like Silverback TAC41 or Maple Leaf MLC-338. I actually enjoy tuning and upgrading mechanical devices more than buying expensive ones.
I am trying to limit myself to 200 USD and get the most accurate rifle in that range with possibility to upgrade. I really want the rifle to be compact and it would be great to have a collapsible/foldable stock, but I don't see such options for 200USD. It looks like for airsoft rifles barrel length is not as important as for normal precision rifles and maybe I can get away with a shorter barrel (~300mm) or change the barrel to a shorter one later. My typical range would be 25m (80ft), but hopefully the rifle can shoot accurately farther than that. It should be able to take a more powerful spring (~500fps). Hopefully it will let me use heavier bbs for more accuracy and flatter trajectory.
After some research I selected these 3 options. Maybe you can help me choose ?
1. JG VSR-10 G-SPEC - 135 USD
It has a short barrel and metal trigger, but it probably needs more upgrades before it can take a more powerful spring.
2. Action Army T11 - 220 USD
It has many upgraded metal components and can probably use m150 spring in it without additional upgrades. I might change the barrel to a shorter one later.
3. Taiwangun UPGRADED Cyma CM701B-U 560 FPS - 150 USD ($105 plus $40 shipping)
It also has metal upgraded components and 6.04 (precision ?) barrel and high power spring. I can also buy this short barrel from them and compare later
Steel 6.02mm Inner Barrel 300mm [ZCI]
Any advice?
