George is right, From what I have seen and been told the only similarity between my system and any other is they all use air. The one I designed has no piston, no separate air nozzle, no springs, only one solenoid, and ONE moving part......

Very soon a bunch of folks will have them more people can contribute even more to this discussion. I am working on two WA2000's, an M4 for Woogie, and a handful of other builds going on.

I may be late to the party but I look good when I get there....LOL, LOL

George was one of the first people I met when I got here and has been a constant source of encouragement. There were more than a few moments when I wondered if I could really pull this off. When you guys see the system up close you will understand completely. I really had to think outside the box when it came to designing the tooling.

Thanks Guys, Paul

Can't wait to get the tester man.

Now looking at the other gearbox....... would this be a modular design as well? Meaning that it could go into any gearbox shell, as long as it will fit into the cylinder area?

If so..... I may try and get it inside of a V7 gearbox for my M14EBR as well. Then just swap it out for different games.

That's what it's looking like Woogie. The rest of it I think doesn't actually need to be inside of a gearbox...and from the picture it's looking like he doesn't even need the gearbox if he doesn't want it. He could free hand the design and fashion his own cylinder and bolt it into place. In which case...no more gearbox! Figuring out a stable way for it to sit in the gun would be slightly difficult but doable. In my head I'd picture a custom cylinder with bolt attachments lined up with where the screws on the gearbox would go. Gun becomes lighter as another benefit as well. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense...I've been up basically all night cramming for 2 exams today :D

Alpha is so on this !!! That is indeed the deal. It is nice to get the solenoid close to the air system but that is not really an issue in most cases. There is indeed plans in the works for a molded carbon fiber "housing" for the air system.

We were just out shooting mine and running it off my shop compressor which is not ideal (not enough pressure or flow) and we were getting to about 250' with a flat shot and the hop still needs some tuning.

=p I'd been thinking of attempting something like this once I was done with my bachelors...but you beat me to it. So now I just have random bouts of jealousy/ideas in my head.

That is very impressive! I'm looking forward to seeing how my WA2k shoots when she's done :D

What are the barrel and hop up specs?

The barrel is nothing special just the stock barrel that comes with the AUR. I opened up the window ever so slightly and did a molded in hop up patch. I need to tune the patch a little as I actually have too much hop right now at those distances.

What kind of prices are you thinking about charging for this? If you need any different models to work on let me know. I'll gladly guinea pig one of my guns out to you.

I am hoping to keep it at $250 or less with a the board. Right now I am doing some for $150 because I do not have the board done yet. I can get boards and that adds to the cost but a basic conversion with an electronic trigger it's the $150

So far I know it works with V2, V3 and V7 boxes are there other common gear boxes?

Some Sr-25s have an elongated v2 while others have a longer nozzles. The famas has a v1 gearbox. F2000 has a weird gearbox similar. P90 has another. I can get pics if all the versions opened up and pm you them.
