Orga gbb type 1/2?
Hi, I've been looking at Orga's website for a barrel for me WE scar H gbb and from the limited selection, I picked out the 410mm barrel. It's listed as type 2 were as the rest are listed as type one. Anyone know what that means? And is it safe/easy to order from there as half of it is in Chinese?

Type 1 (top) vs type 2 (bottom)

As you can see, the type 2 clones the really short window type present in pretty much every gun WE has produced in the last 2 years or so, including newest batches of previous releases. For instance, we have a lot of WE AKs in our team, and while the older ones had the type 1, the newest came with type 2. Ironically enough, type 1 performed SO much better out of the box. They are all running full Maple Leaf setups now.

Your SCAR-H surely has a barrel similar to Orga's type 2. Other manufacturers followed, as Angry Gun. The problem is that there are no good hop buckings for such design really, best thing I was able to use was A+ REAPS MG2, still far from ideal.

And being the chambers compatible with either "type" (in our experience, although I've never handled a SCAR-H yet), there's really no point in trying to use the short type.

That being said, I really think you'd benefit a lot from going for a tightbore instead, as there will be way less turbulence and much more joule creep.

The obvious recommendation is Maple Leaf 6.02 410mm GBB inner barrel, coupled with Maple Leaf Autobot 70 and Maple Leaf Hop Tensioner (concave nub). And use a FG-Airsoft's LFS disc if power down is needed.
That's the setup we are running in pretty much every WE gun and it has proven to be far more effective than any other. By miles.

WE guns benefit tremendously from the newest Maple Leaf buckings and their C-ring at the nozzle's end, that really grabs onto the nozzle preventing premature separation, and therefore greatly improving not only range and accuracy, but also providing more kick, more consistency, and better resistance to cooldown.

Everything gets better with a Maple Leaf Autobot bucking. So if I might give you an advice, make your build around that. With that precision combo and taking care of the magazine's wobble, your SCAR-H will outperform any other DMR in the field and outlast humanity.

I'm struggling to find the maple leaf 6.02 barrel in the uk. Would the pdi 6.01 or 6.08 provide similar results with the rest of the maple leaf stuff? It's getting converted to semi so I can run higher power anyway, so power should be good.

Thanks for the great advice

PDI won't fit, their windows are too narrow.

I don't know about UK stores, but as you were willing to get the Orga from China, it won't hurt to get the Maple Leaf from WGCShop ;)

FPS should be OK, but chrono to make sure... after upgrading with Maple Leaf and taking care of the magazine wobble in my WE SVD, it went up to 540FPS, which is too much even for semi auto :p It also got the same kick as a real .223, so there's that lol

It certainly fixed the SVD's legendary inconsistency, and now it's at a much more acceptable 486 +/-6 FPS measured with .20s and the 10% LFS installed. I hope to improve consistency even further when the "Action cylinder bulb" (floating valve) for it arrives.

Well you've got me there ;). Just ordered everything but the concave nub as they didn't have any. Postage was as much as the items, but at 56 it's still half the price of a pdi barrel.

Thanks again, gonna go patiently wait by the door now...

Edit: I am aware of the mod where you shim the mag, but for the moment mine feels pretty solid. I'll keep an eye on it though

Please let us know how this turns out for you ;)

Will do. Paid for the express delivery, so I'm hoping to have it in a week or so.

Edit: just bought this Is that nub the right one? I know I don't need the bucking, but i couldn't find it anywhere on its own.

Well it arrived (in a huge box.. thought it was my 416c at first) the barrel looks to be finished beautifully and is slightly thicker than the original, removing most of the wobble the original had in the hop up unit. I did notice that it wasn't crowned like the we barrel is but we'll see how that effects things over time.

Now for the not so good... inserted the autobot bucking (light blue 70deg) and it went on like a glove. My problem came when I placed the barrel/bucking combo into the hop. If you place the barrel to the entrance of the chamber, the rubber alignment thingy goes into the slot on the side of the chamber, but the cuts in the barrel don't line up with the chamber meaning you can't close the two Pieces of the chamber together. What I had to do is trim maybe 2mm from the alignment groove on the side of the bucking to get them both to slot together.

The concave nub... the moron sent me a bucking/nub combo for an aeg, but the nub looked a similar size to the rubber 'cylinder' nub from standard. What I've noticed is that both are much narrower than the gap for them in the chamber. I centered it as best I could, but I feel this may shift over time.

What I have noticed with both barrel/bucking combo's is that they don't come all the way to the entrance of the chamber. There's a gap of maybe 1.5/2mm.

I'll post back once I've had the opportunity to test at range.

I'm kind of lost here. All Maple Leaf barrels I've seen are crowned, and lined up perfectly with the chambers.

W0lf 12-06-2016 05:23 AM

Looking at it again, it so crowned but it's a real deep, shallow angled crown. It's not like a 45 degree cut like the standard barrel that is just the last 2mm. It's about an inch deep and I've noticed white bb marks inside the barrel after a couple of mags. (Blaster devil .28). The groves line up with the chamber without the rubber, but when the rubber slides on and grips the cutout of the barrel, it no longer lines up because the rubber shelf thing doesn't fit in the slot in the side of the chamber. I'll post some pics up I a bit.
