A bit of epoxy built up to stop the selector from traveling past semi would do it if needed. Or drill/tap a 2mm capscrew to act as the stopper. 2mm needs a 1/16” hole to run the tap through.

How much longer are you thinking? Might be easier to just get a threaded barrel if you’re only going 10mm or so... or a threaded g34 barrel if you’re looking like 25mm...
