Hey guys I've been doing some looking on the forums(not just this site) and I can't seem to find any schedule for a sniper qual corse anywhere I would like to get certified but I can't find a place date or time on it. If anyone knows anything please let me know I wanna try to get certified before autumn justice but that probably won't happen. Still though please let me know. Thanks
Yea I am I'm on the east coast. I went to an even and the people told me I needed to be certified to use my sniper which is over the field limits. Also I can't wear my Ghillie suit because I'm not certified. I've been looking since last spring for events but one has yet to come up.
I live in ma, haven't gone to ANY events yet. There's nothing in NE.
Anyway, there's this place in cape cod (ultimate battleground, i think) I stopped by there when while visiting friends, they said all snipers were allowed (either under 500 or 515 fps, something like that), the only requirement was the shooting distance. Meaning, they don't really like having a player get shot from 15 feet away by a 500 fps sniper. I've never heard of certification as a necessity for playing as a sniper. If you don't mind telling, which field said that?

That's what the people from feel good farm told me and I haven't been to ubg but I heard that's where autumn justice is going to be so I will be going there soon and I hear the minimum engagement distance was 100ft. My sniper can easily reach that and way more so that's not a problem. It's also way over 500fps so I'm not sure if I can bring it but I still might even though I'm going as a rifleman. Also on top of that if I go as a rm or ftl do you think I would be able to use it even though I wouldn't be as a sniper.
This is very weird, as there is no sniper qualification course for airsoft... anywhere. Personally, my old sniper was 370 FPS and could reach out to 150 ft. just fine, and 200 if I used the Mil dots on my scope. I don't know what kind of field this is, but I think that you should swap out your spring for a 400 or 450 spring if you want your gun to be a higher FPS.
But ah..... this seems weird. You should bring your gun down anyways though.
Contact the event organisers and ask them about restrictions and competence requirements they have for their event for bolt actions.
Chances are a head marshal will want to to correctly identify distances and be sure of your judgement of the Minimum Enagement Distance (MED) and that you are carrying an appropriate side arm for when your target gets within that distance.
Is your rifle is over the field limits for AEG's or for bolt action rifles or just the field limits for everything? If you are way over 500 perhaps it is time to think about bringing it down To 500. Unless you play no fps limit games.
What I meant was bring down the FPS. High FPSes generally dont help and also are dangerous for other players. Swap out a spring and THEN see what they say.
Where I'm from, Spokane, we have Spokane Airsoft as the main organizer of events. To run with a sniper rifle, or any single-fire-only rifle over 400 fps with a .2g, you need to do a sniper qual course. They hold one a year.
