400fps well l96

First of all I am new to the forum and sniping, but not airsoft. I have a well l96 and am trying to get it to be under 400fps. It is not currently upgraded but I plan to get a 6.03 tbb and the aspuk hop up chamber (www.airsoftsniperparts.com, ASPUK) this combined with the tbb, will probably give an fps increase of around 50-60 so what spring would I need? I was thinking a 120 or lower. Also where can I get one and are vsr springs compatible?
Thanks, GBM

L96s aren't compatible with vsr parts. A 130 may be under 400 after you were it in. Also you can get a 140 and maybe cut it.
Ok thank you. I just wondered because there is a vsr spring under the l96 section on aspuk. How much would I need to cut? Any ideas
About two coils. It varies form spring tro spring hough. Ask 1tonne, the "spring expert".

Each coil is about 20fps. (This is an estimate)

Thanks for the help and I read your spring post. You said that laylax vsr springs fill a well l96, is it just laylax ones?

Nearly all VSR10 springs will fit in a L96 (Maruzen Version) until you get to really big ones like an M190. Anything smaller will be fine.
Scrap what I said about the VSR spring. Most aftermarket pistons will fit the VSR springs but the stock standard WELL L96 piston will not fit VSR springs unless you drill out the centre.
I drilled out the centre of my stock piston and it is even holding up with an M190 spring in it. NOT BAD.

wow, this is GOLD information, I think you should update this on "Advanced L96 topic...."

As you can see in my last post. I stuffed up a little. Most aftermarket pistons will fit vsr springs and the Stock WELL L96 one can but you need to drill it out.
So sorry about the misinformation.
By the way, Action Army are altering their L96 piston so that it will fit even big VSR10 springs. (Not sure when they are going to it. They may have done it already)
