I am buying a G-Spec outer barrel and am going to run my 430mm Pro Sniper inner barrel inside it. To do this, I need to drill the silencer to allow the inner barrel to fit.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this or knows what the easiest/most effective ways are to do this?
Drill press would be best, but you can do it with an electric hand drill because the metal is pretty soft. I just took the silencer off, removed the IB and hopup and drilled through it while still attached to the OB. Very, very easy.
It doean't have to be neat or anything because no one is going to be seeing the inside so a dremel or similar rotary tool like Woogie said would probably be easiest.
I've done 2 like this now as I prefer the look of the Gspec... So.....
You will need an 8mm and 9mm drill HSS bits, plus variable speed drill, set the drill to a medium speed an fit the 8mm drill bit..... enlarge the muzzle hole with the drill and bit..... repeat with the 9mm drill bit... job done
Its a bit awkward making barrel spacers that fit the suppressor, though with a bit of ingenuity it can be done :yup:
I'm planning on wrapping electrical tape on the inner barrel for barrel spacers because that's what I did for my old barrel. I'll just keep wrapping and re-fitting it until it is nice and snug.
