Would a silverback silicone 70 degree bucking last a long time on 2.81 joules or would the 80 degree bucking be better for longevity with such high power? Using .49g bbs. Thanks

I’d go 80, but you could probably get away with 70 okay, it would just wear out a bit faster. Hop rubbers are consumable parts.

70 works well in my 3.4J rifle. I've only ever had issues with harder.

Yeah I'm just horrible at lining them up perfectly and changing them for some reason. I was going to have evike install a 70 but I just don't want it to wear out and have to mess with it. I know tinkering is a part of sniping but hop ups are my worst enemy

Hop up bucking will always wear since it is a rubber. It's only a matter of time. And talking about the longest lasting, harder bucking usually last longer but wouldn't be ideal for use

Based on your bb weight (0.49gr), exit velocity (107m/sec - 352ft/sec) & maple leaf's bucking chart, you should pick 60, max 70. I suggest 70. 70 is fine and have it for long time. I was using for two years a ML MrHOP 70(old version) in my VSR with no wear-tear signs.
