I was firing my new svd for just a few minutes when the trigger stopped responding.
There was no sounds that indicated that anything broke, it just stopped.
My battery didn't die, as it had just come off of the charger, I also tried another battery, but to no avail.
I'm new to AK type guns, and airsoft in general, so I have no idea what happened.
Any help is appreciated!

Bet the motor wires came loose. A&K are pretty well known for loose fitting connectors. So you are going to have to open it up. Or you blew out the fuse. I would check the fuse first. Should be one on the red wire near the battery connector.

I don't fully remember the process to get to the motor, but you remove the dust cover, I think you pull off the fire selector, then there is a screw buried under the magazine latch that you need to unscrew. Might need to remove the barrel too, think the set screws holding it in are under the rear sight.

Ok, I'll try this. If it was the motor wires that caused the issue, is there any way that I can prevent it from happening again?
If it was the fuse, how do I go about replacing it?

For the fuse, you open the fuse container and replace the fuse with a like one. You can pick them up easy from an auto parts store, Walmart, etc.

For the motor connectors, you can use pliers to gently tighten them by smashing the connector a little bit. Or you can solder the wire straight to the motor connector posts.

Ok, thanks a bunch!

I would just tighten the connectors though. Later down the road you will need to replace the motor as A&K motors are kind of junk, soldering it will just add extra hassle.

4 options: disconnected or snapped motor wires, a disconnected wire in gearbox (highly unlikely but still maybe it could happen), a burnt fuse, or worse, burnt trigger contacts. If a fuse doesn't work, then you have burnt trigger contacts. Let's hope that's not the case.

Considering he said it was new i doubt its burnt trigger contacts.

Could be a grounded out wire, but I kind of doubt that too.

Sorry for the late response, I got busy, the fuse was good and the connectors were on there snugly.

I'll test and see if, by some miracle, it fires when I reassemble it, but I doubt it will.

What other issues could be causing the non-firing?

Thanks in advance!

If all the electrical parts i said to check are good. Then you have a broken wire or a section that is grounding out on the body. You could have burned up the trigger contacts.

What battery connection is on it? I bet its Tamiya. If it is then I would make sure none of the pins are loose. Though I would change the connection anyway to something better. Like XT60 or Deans.

Yeah it's Tamiya, what can I do if the wire is broken or grounding? Do I just order a new wire and replace it?

Yep. you could also try to repair it with shrink wrap
Ok, I tested the wires, the black wire is good, and the two parts of the red wire are good, but the part where the two parts go into the gearbox is where they stop working, is that normal or could that be the problem?

Here's an image if the aforementioned section other gearbox:
