I am thinking about getting one of these. Do they not have external adjustment? how does the adjustment work?

Just wanted to let you guys know that there will be a TDC 2.0 version available for the AA chamber very soon. It will replace the stock arm with our TDC 2.0 insert + M3 nut + nub system + external thumbscrew + clicky housing system (total height of 5.0mm). You can check out the installation procedure to get a better idea of our TDC system. You can sign up for the email notifications here: https://tridos.design/products/tdc-2-0-for-vsr10

I will likely be doing a BETA batch quite soon. If you're interested to take part, follow our Facebook page and you'll be up to date.

And yes, I'm the guy behind TRIDOS. Hopefully this kind of post is ok :).

The only difference is the aluminum housing that goes around the thumbscrew. It has a small plunger and spring that creates a super satisfying click (which can easily be removed if you don't like that for infinite smooth adjustment) and also protects the thumbscrew. PRO version has it - BASIC version comes without one but can be later upgraded by purchasing the upgrade kit. The TDC also comes with a grub-screw just like the AA chamber on the bottom but now from the top, easily accessible, if you want to go for that invisible look instead of a thumbscrew.

Some people might ask "but isn't the whole point of TDC to get rid of clicks?!" and yes, that's generally true because when you have a whole range of the hop-up with only 20 clicks - that's definitely not enough granularity. But when you have effectively 140 clicks throughout the same range of motion, it is actually super useful to have consistent feedback when adjusting the hopup - good luck consistently turning the thumbscrew in 3.5 degree steps .

I am lookinng forward to the release for the vsr 10 with aa hopup chamber.

However, the 3 different nubs all look very short to me. Atm I am using the stalker panthera nub, which is a bit longer. This has great results for me in combination with a Mapleleaf MR hop up Bucking and an unbridged barrel. Is there a way to use a longer nub with the arm or the original aa hop up chamber arm, since it is doing its job well?

I dont want to judge your nubs before testing them, it would just be sad if the upgrade for my gun fails, because I cant use my nub anymore.

Do u have any additional information about the release or a beta batch? Couldnt find it on your facebook page.

Quick update on the TDC 2.0 - we're launching it on 12th of March - 1800H GMT (tomorrow as of writing). BETA testing went flawlessly and we're super excited to get this out to the VSR10 owners finally!

So for Action Army TDC 2.0 we had to change up the design of the nubs because our SSG10/24 ones didn't fit the chamber window (they were too wide). We dialed them in to perfectly fill the whole opening. We will have 3 nubs each having slightly different profile:
  • Black one being the maximum surface area and being completely flat (similar to Panthera nub)
  • Gray one has the same shape but has a cutout channel in the middle meaning the perssure would be applied more towards the sides
  • Silver is more like the first one but with curved up front and back edges meaning the applied pressure on entry and exit would be more gradual
  • Additionally we now included the fourth option - Red nub. This one is made to fit together with all your standard circular nubs like Omega, Panthera, stock AA rubber nub, etc. We wanted to provide the option to experiment with soft / rubber type nubs.

From my experience in developing the TDC 2.0 for all of the chamber and testing different nubs - I personally couldn't tell any meaningful difference in performance between any of the nubs but we want to provide options for people to experiment and test their own theories which ones work the best for what setup. The more people have access to these the faster we'll have some meaningful data from community on what feels like works the best.

We have now published all the details on the product page with final pictures so feel free to explore and throw us any questions you might have. We're still shooting the installation videos, so those will come some time later.
