Hi folks,

I'm planning on buying a new sniper rifle - this time: gas sniper rifle. The main reason for this is the ability to use HPA with it. I was eyeballing with a M700 for a while now and while I was searching for a good deal, I found the Action Army Conversion Kit AAC-21 (like here: AAC-21). Actually, I first stumbled over the gun as a whole (like here: gun) and fell in love at first sight. :)

Now my questions are:

1. Has anyone experience with either of them (Conversion Kit or whole gun)? If so, how is your impression?

2. Is the complete gas sniper rifle (2nd link) identical to the Tanaka M700? Or other way around, is the Conversion Kit in the gun identical to the "standalone" Conversion Kit?
Because I don't really get it, why the whole gun is almost as much as the kit only.
Because of the gun law, I can't legally use the gun (2nd link) itself in my country, but if I buy a Tanaka M700 in Germany, I can use the other parts as spare parts, IF they are the same (and of course the conversion kit).

3. I haven't found a perfectly clear answer to the question, which models of the M700 are compatible with the kit. Will any Tanaka M700 do (like for instance this:Tanaka M700 or this: M700 old) or which one has to be it? (There are not much Tanaka M700 available around here. >:) An alternative might be the KJW M700 here, but I would prefer to have a Tanaka.

I'd appreciate any help and hints, thanks.

Cheers,

It's just an M700 in an overpriced stock. If you want cosmetics then you can get it.

I'll answer both...

The chamber on the Tanaka takes only Tanaka specific barrels and buckings (and trying to find those is like trying to find a .20g bb in a pile of .25g bbs...) And so King Arms and a few companies created a chamber to take VSR barrels and VSR buckings. Now that the Tanakas are out of production (I think...?) Finding this chamber is like the analogy above, but with .23g bbs and not .25g...

skater is probably just noting that the stock alone is priced at nearly $400... For a hunk of metal. Theres no performance difference between the two (except maybe that the AAC has an unsupported outer barrel) and that the extra money is just for looks. It really serves no other purpose.

Thank you all for answering. I feel a strong "urge" of you towards the KJW M700 and so I decided to go with it. So I ordered the KJW, not least because of the special deal atm. and I think with all the support for the KJW it's better to spend 200 € for this than 400 for a used gun with a doubtful supply of parts at best. And I didn't know about the special chamber, so thanks for the heads up again!

About the AAC-21 kit ... of course I will try the gun on the field without it first. But it seems to me, that the possibilities it opens are worth some bucks. CNC machined parts always come pricy, I know that too.

But the question remains, if it's better to order the whole AAC-21 gun for just a few dollars more than the kit alone and have some spare parts for the gun too? Or are the parts useless in my new KJW anyway? I mean, roughly 60 dollars seem a small price for a "spare gun", don't they?

Parts are compatible. You can have two guns if you want, it's what I am soon goin to do for spare parts.
